Eight hours now, he’d been running. Eight hours, which meant the papers hadn’t gone to presses yet. The accident had been remote, a solid hour’s drive out of the city before he’d crashed the lot of them. Someone had to have found it by now, but outside the city? Who knew how jurisdictions played out?

Local authorities have announced that Eric Martens, aka 'The Tyger', has escaped from police custody while being transferred upstate to prison last evening. Martens, aged 48, was scheduled for the transfer while awaiting his arraignment and trial. Police have no statement as to how Martens escaped his bonds, but do confirm the deaths of five other inmates and one guard in the wreckage that resulted from his escape. As of this printing, the police refuse to comment on whether Martens has returned to the city or fled away from it, but will confirm that a manhunt is being organized between state and local authorities to scour the woodlands outside of the city. Any citizen with information or possible sightings should contact the Eidolon police department immediately.
It's a weekend for big excitement in Eidolon City, and despite the ongoing manhunt, the O Fortuna Casino is open for business! Open to the public with no cover charge and free refreshments, it's bound to be a night of amusement. Get ready to roll those dice!

It was reported today that American forces have liberated what they're calling a 'concentration camp', near Weimar, Germany. Reports are still coming in to explain what's been seen there, and thousands of people have been freed from what's most assuredly a horrifying ordeal.

Antoinette didn’t disagree with her sister often but when they did, she had learnt from experience that the best thing to do was put some distance between them until she calmed down; of the two of them she was the one more likely to say or do something then regret it later. Annaliese was going the gala, something Toni could see the point in, but when she had suggested that maybe Toni go with her, the trouble started. It was probably an over reaction but the thought of being in near proximity to the sort of crowd expected at the park made her skin crawl and she had kicked off.

Even with the gala that night and his date with Ally, Lucas was still at the office. With his door closed no one was bothering him, which meant his sleeves were rolled up, showing off the red marks around his wrists that Feo had left in their last encounter. They’d be hidden later, but for now, it was best to let them air out. Already they were fading some, but there was bound to be some markings by the time he donned his suit for later.
Which had him wondering if Ally would notice. He guessed probably not.

All things considered, Eric was actually flattered that he'd been put at the front of the bus. It was tactically sound, of course; this seat kept him in plain view of two guards and the driver, while the rest of the bus only had four more along the walkway. Three shotguns between the standing guards were held at ease, and all six had pistols holstered, but the driver was only a driver. Eric could work with this, tallying off the numbers in his head and fitting them in with what he'd learned from the ride so far.

She’d wanted a tour of the city, and had explored fragments of it on her own, but seeing so many disparate efforts come together like this had Amelie realizing just how much there still was to be discovered. The park was a vibrant thing, alive and thrumming with occupants milling around the greens and fountain, grouping near the bandshell, and flowing along the impromptu avenues of vendors.

Shoshannah had been hit with an idea and had made a call to someone, someone a friend of a friend knew, someone that she hadn’t really met but had heard more than enough about already. They’d agreed to meet at the Sea and Sky, which was perfect for her anyway considering she had work to do. Granted, her black pencil skirt and white blouse didn’t make for the perfect working outfit, but Shannah didn’t mind and barely even noticed it as she sorted the canvases of a local artist.

The suit wasn’t his best, but considering how his best suit looked now, it probably was now. It fit well though and while it had taken work, he’d manged to scrub off the worst of the grime that usually covered his hands and cheeks. His hair was as close as he could get to it being under control, but it still fell in his eyes a little.

Fontaine Park is coming alive tonight, full of music, lights and wonder! The park will be closed today to prepare for the Gala, but will be opening up promptly at six o'clock! All cover costs paid at the gates will go towards helping the city repair damages caused by the last storm, as well as issues that previously existed! So come help out your city, your neighbors and yourself! Anyone wanting to participate in the entertainment of the evening is encouraged to do so, as well as any vendors that would like to come! The cost for participating will be a small percentage of your earnings. Entry costs for the Gala will work on a sliding scale. So everyone should be able to attend! Come One, Come All!

Agreement has been reached on the balance of agricultural trade between the US and Canada. Whilst this agreement is still in its infancy, the major points have now been agreed upon and there are high hopes for a more stable future for both countries.
Greta Simmons (47) baked cookies all round as a thank you for all involved when the Eidolon City Fire Department were called out at 4pm yesterday to rescue Snuggles (14) - Simmons' ginger tabby who had managed to get stuck up an oak tree on the edge of Fontaine Park, where Simmons lives. Simmons is the proud owner of 23 cats and often takes in strays and she is quoted as saying that never before have any of her cats ever required the help of the emergency services. She could not praise the efforts of the men enough and has said that she will be delivering a fresh batch of cookies to them twice a week from now on.

His mind was a still jumbled, something that was just starting to eat at him as he spotted a familiar figure on the sidewalk. Slowing the truck down he looked out the window, glancing at the other man. “Hey there.”

Things had moved into the new place Robyn had found for Adelaide and the gang and Adelaide had agreed to share a room with Robyn even if there was room for them to have their own spaces. Sharing the space meant more time together and in all honesty, Robyn was basking in that glow. Even as she sat on her stoop, a slow day for customers, only two and both had had very little to give, there was a soft smile ghosting over her features. The dreamy look she always had was there, but it seemed happier now than before.

Charlie had gotten word to Lily, asking her to meet him in Little Haven. It was probably time he should get to looking at the place that had been left to him. And he still didn't want to do it alone. So, he wanted her to come with. Plus, he wanted to see her, just spend some time where his life could feel less overwhelming and confusing. At the moment it seemed like everything was just complicating his existence, but she didn't. So, he was hoping she could keep things nicely un-complicated.

Having gotten a message that Huck wanted to meet up with him, Charlie headed to the park at the suggested time. He wasn't sure what this was going to entail, though he would admit that he probably did need to talk to the guy. After what happened with Dodge, and the subsequent events, a conversation was due. Possibly overdue. So, he got to the park, got some roasted peanuts, then started to stroll around til he spotted the man in question. Walking over, he gave Huck a nod, and sat down on the bench next to him. "Hey." he greeted.

Maddy returned from breakfast with Jason back to the gallery to resume cleaning up her things. She hadn’t seen her employer yet and wondered when she might see the woman. Maddy didn’t want to just leave a note saying that she could no longer work at the gallery -- not after everything Shoshannah had done for her. Sighing a little she set an empty box on her desk and putting her personal things in there: sketchbooks, some pencils and charcoal, and other little things that she’d collected over time.
