She couldn’t believe this. She’d overslept again. There was one point where she’d woke up, decided to make breakfast, and had a plan to make it to work on time but when she woke up again, hours had passed. She sighed, ran a hand through her medium-length hair, and proceeded to bolt around her apartment.

Max's visit had left Ian a little unsettled but after an hour or two of familiarizing himself with the apartment he dug around in the coat closet until he found something slightly masculine to put on and headed out. There were things he needed.

Dutch had left Ian, unconscious and in a pool of his own blood at the entrance to the alley way. As expect a cop passed by and found him just as he woke up from the last hit to the head he took. The officer called an ambulance and before too long Ian was trucked off to the hospital, but quickly patched up.

Today was going to be a good day. It was beautiful outside, she'd just had lunch with Ian, she'd spent the last night with Elle in her very first sleep-over, and now she was on her way to see Angelo. She called beforehand to make sure he was there, like he'd asked her to, and once she had she grabbed her purse again and headed out to the streets.

The cab ride to Angelo's apartment was calm and silent. Shoshannah found herself staring out of the window, watching the people on the streets turn into blurs on the streets. Seeing all the different opportunities for snapshots stirred a melancholy feeling in her. Her hands felt empty without her camera there, but it wasn't like they hadn't tried. She and Angelo had gone searching for the camera yesterday and hadn't found it.

All day, Shoshannah had been feeling just a little off. She couldn't quite place it. Aside from her camera being stolen, nothing really major had happened that would upset her. She'd been to her first movie with Cheyenne and Elle a couple days back which had been nothing short of fantastic. Hopefully she'd get to see them again, this time for something that she'd be able to treat them to. Then after the movie, Angelo and she had gone out in search of her camera but to no avail.

I went to my first movie with Elle and Cheyenne yesterday. It was marvelous.

Today, I went to see my father with Ian. I hadn't really thought it through at first, but it was a good thing Ian was there. I think he's the only reason my father didn't drag me home right away. I tried to tell him that I wasn't coming back, that I needed to be at the Drake, that I needed to be anywhere but that house, but at first he wasn't listening. It took Ian's assurance that I was perfectly safe there in order to persuade my father to let me stay. I told him I was going right out after this talk with him to start searching for jobs again and he seemed pleased, but still worried.

Shoshannah should have been prepared for this. She'd been out since 2 A.M. last night and while she'd thought of it as a very productive first day out, her parents didn't agree. The fight itself escalated at around 9 A.M., causing Shoshannah to grab her jacket and a large duffel-bag, stuffing it with a pair of her favorite pajamas and a change of day clothes, her camera, her purse, and a scrapbook that she kept most of her developed photos in.

After her lunch with Ian Sullivan, Shoshannah left The Drake Hotel feeling light as a feather. Her parents had been completely wrong about that place. There wasn't anything for her to be worried about. The hotel itself was gorgeous and if all the staff were as friendly and accommodating as Ian was then there truly was no reason for her to worry.
