After dropping off Shoshannah, making sure she was in her place safe and promised to rest, Mickey started the truck back towards his place. His mind was a still jumbled, something that was just starting to eat at him as he spotted a familiar figure on the sidewalk. Slowing the truck down he looked out the window, glancing at the other man. “Hey there.”

Things had moved into the new place Robyn had found for Adelaide and the gang and Adelaide had agreed to share a room with Robyn even if there was room for them to have their own spaces. Sharing the space meant more time together and in all honesty, Robyn was basking in that glow. Even as she sat on her stoop, a slow day for customers, only two and both had had very little to give, there was a soft smile ghosting over her features. The dreamy look she always had was there, but it seemed happier now than before.

Charlie had gotten word to Lily, asking her to meet him in Little Haven. It was probably time he should get to looking at the place that had been left to him. And he still didn't want to do it alone. So, he wanted her to come with. Plus, he wanted to see her, just spend some time where his life could feel less overwhelming and confusing. At the moment it seemed like everything was just complicating his existence, but she didn't. So, he was hoping she could keep things nicely un-complicated.

Having gotten a message that Huck wanted to meet up with him, Charlie headed to the park at the suggested time. He wasn't sure what this was going to entail, though he would admit that he probably did need to talk to the guy. After what happened with Dodge, and the subsequent events, a conversation was due. Possibly overdue. So, he got to the park, got some roasted peanuts, then started to stroll around til he spotted the man in question. Walking over, he gave Huck a nod, and sat down on the bench next to him. "Hey." he greeted.

Shoshannah hadn’t been home for very long when she was dressed again, this time down in a pair of trousers and a black button down, and headed out on the town again. She wasn’t exactly in the best of spirits, even though she’d kept her smile as best she could today after the news she’d had.

Maddy returned from breakfast with Jason back to the gallery to resume cleaning up her things. She hadn’t seen her employer yet and wondered when she might see the woman. Maddy didn’t want to just leave a note saying that she could no longer work at the gallery -- not after everything Shoshannah had done for her. Sighing a little she set an empty box on her desk and putting her personal things in there: sketchbooks, some pencils and charcoal, and other little things that she’d collected over time.

When: midday
Vera would have preferred to do this on her own, without Rachel, but it made sense to bring Rachel along. It was good for the girls to meet Charlie, since he was going to be their body guard for all intents and purposes, but Vera, selfish as she was, wanted time alone with Charlie. The reaction Lily had about him had left her curious, wondering if she could turn him, manipulate him as well. He wasn’t going to take Lily from her.

They’d started earlier than usual, an excuse for Lucas to leave the office early. It was a slow news day in his eyes anyway. Cops shot, serial killers caught? That was easy writing, things he could do in his sleep. His byline would still be visible, but not any ground that he hand’t already covered at some point in his life.

The more time Miles had to himself, the more he found he didn't like it. It wasn't being without people specifically, it was being without her. Nighthawks had been doing well out of him - any shifts that needed picking up, he was there, anyone who needed someone to cover, he was there. Keeping busy worked for him. He could fill his mind with all the tasks of the diner and let everything else slide. Mostly.

It has been officially reported that Eric Martens, revealed yesterday to have confessed to being The Tyger, has been captured and taken into custody by Eidolon City Police, bringing an end to his one man campaign of murder and mayhem (see editorial on page 6). The brave officer behind the arrest is reported to be Detective Daniel McKinnon who single handedly brought the Tyger to justice. There are calls from the city elite for McKinnon's bravery to be officially recognised by the city, though there has been no official response to these calls at time of going to press.
Detective Brett Trent was shot and wounded in a fight which broke out in the notorious bar, The One More Round, last night. It is not clear what Trent was doing in the bar, but it is widely known throughout the city that the 'Round' - as it is so often known - is generally 'off limits' to Eidolon City's finest. It is possible that Trent, who has featured repeatedly in these very pages for various brave and valiant deeds, had gone in alone to aid in the fracas against rumored ECPD policy that no officer should enter the bar alone. There has been no official statement on the shooting.

Today, acclaimed singer Marian Anderson will perform at the Lincoln Memorial, having being denied the right to sing to an integrated audience at the Daughters of the American Revolution's Constitution Hall. This move another in a long line of protests against race prejudice in within our national borders and another call for full integration of all public facilities.
News Just In! We are getting the first reports that the Axis powers are once again moving to spread their plague further across Europe. It seems that, even as we go to press, invasion of Denmark and Norway is under way. Little is known about those countries' abilities to resist such an attack, but the populations are in our thoughts and in our prayers. We have confirmation that there will be a special mass held at 7pm tonight in St Peters Cathedral to pray for all those involved in the war, be they civilians or the brave soldiers willing to fight and die for the freedoms of others.
