He woke up groggy - always a sign that he'd gone to sleep far too tired and fallen into a deep, deep sleep. The fact that the bed was cool beside him let him know that she'd gotten up some time ago, even if she'd come to bed with him at dawn. He glanced at the window, where the evening sun showed pale through a gap in the curtains. Apparently, he'd slept all day.

Who: Arienne and Jessie
When: Morning, during school
Where: The high school
Jessie was gathering up her books and paper, stuffing everything she had down into the messenger bag on her shoulder as she made her way hastily out of math class. She'd made a promise to herself that she was going to pay more attention in class and she had the notes to prove it. Pages front and back scribbled with formulas, problems, and answers in a crazy sort of disarray that happened when she was trying to take down everything she could.
old friends

where: The boardwalk
when: Early afternoon
December was a girl who stood out. She did it deliberately, of course, but she definitely did so. She was off her shift at the haunted house, so she'd taken a little bit of a walk around the place, looking at it in the daylight, which was something she didn't see all that often. It wasn't that she was purely nocturnal or anything, but she burned to a crisp in the sunlight half the time so she avoided it.

who: Lucas and Chie
where: Chie's shop
when: late afternoon
Lucas had spent the morning at his desk, chain smoking and going over the files he'd nicked from the journalist who'd done the write up about the bodies and their O'Malley connection. Nothing had been jumping out at him directly, no hints about who'd killed them, or who even why they died.

Where: The Boardwalk Opening
Lian wasn't quite sure why she was here, other than the fact that one of her marks was milling around this opening. She'd been briefed by the elders that this job was going to be different. It would take a slightly different tactic to get the man she was after alone, and while they assured her that it would be more difficult, she doubted it. A crowded boardwalk opening was not much different than a crowded party and Mistress Orchid had more than enough experience with crowded parties and deadly deeds.

Ringing

Who: Lucas
Where: his desk at the Echo
When: early morning
For a moment or two the ringing sound laced itself through his dreams until the ringing actually pulled him from his dreams completely and Lucas woke up, finding himself asleep at his desk with the phone ringing next to his head. Sitting up a little he rubbed his face and let the phone ring twice more. That brought the grand total of rings he remembered to six, which meant only one thing.

Who: Dodge and Corey
Where: The library
When: late morning
Dodge was a boy on a mission. He'd tried the Sixth Street Bridge entrance to the tunnels first, but those who loitered about the outside there hadn't seen Corey. Someone had suggested the library entrance, which was closer to her space. Dodge hadn't wanted to go there first, hoping to just happen up on her, but in the end he headed that way, considering it better than accidentally running into Roy in the bank building.

Pepper’s ‘funeral’ was uneventful. No one was sure if they had anything to say so the group ended up just standing around under the winter-bare elm tree staring into space. Contemplating their humanity and mortality and how it was just an inevitable fact that they’d all slowly die off.
TIME UPDATE
Submitted by mods on Fri, 08/27/2010 - 11:47.
Weather: It's an incredibly clear day. There's a light, pleasant breeze that drifts through the city throughout the day. Temperatures are comfortable.
Events:
Angelo Lacoste's exhibition is tonight! It's fully open to the public, with cocktails provided to this semi-formal affair.
Quietly, the path to the village springs up two more paths. One to the colosseum, the other to the theater. The three areas are located close together, and it is possible to get from one area to another along interlinking paths, though there are small areas of woodland inbetween them. For more information on these areas, see here and here!
In other news, the Boardwalk has it's grand opening!
~The Boardwalk~
On the opposite end of the city along the river from the warehouse district and the docks is the boardwalk. It's been there for as long as anyone can remember, though most of the time it only had a couple of attractions or shops open at a time. Very occasionally, there would be a traveling show that would set up shop there, but for the most part it has been a run down place and area, just dangling on the edge of closure. Recently, it was purchased and shut down, construction going on for several weeks with no real public announcement as to what was being done with it.
Unknown to anyone outside the Konovich family, they purchased it. And they worked with those who kept the place running over the years, called in contacts through their own family and those working there, and they built the place up. It'll be opening this evening, a much more fully operating amusement park, with carnival games, rides (that have been commissioned from traveling shows and fixed up), souvenir shops, and a few candy shops and eateries. Nothing is brand new or state of the art, but it's better than anyone can ever recall it being. It's employees are a mixture of people who have stayed there for years, tending to the dying place and new hirees from town (both Syndicate affiliates and civilians).
The prices are set fairly low, wanting to cater to a wider selection of people in the city and not just to the rich with enough pocket change to look for diversion. It means there's a wide range of people who attend.
Dreams: Tonight the dreams center in on a small community that sprung up around an oasis in the Nevada desert. It is quite clearly a cult sort of situation, one that's doomsday clock is ending it's run. They worship the prophet, but believe to truly transcend, they all must die. News crews are covering the event, and no one is stopping them.
If you have any events or anything going on which you think warrants a mention in the time update, please let us know!
