To hell with the gang warfare, to hell with the serial killer. Dutch's job could follow suit, it could pile on top of a heap of dead mobsters to form a tower of things he just didn't care about today. He was in a good mood. Maybe it had something to do with the idea that a bunch of the scum in the city were now floating on the surface? Maybe. Mostly, it was the still-lasting high that had taken hold from seeing her. Cheyenne. His little girl.

Who: Dodge & Evelyn
Where: Outside Drake Hotel & random burger place
When: Late night~!

Evelyn almost felt like whistling as she walked down to a small locker and coat room where she pulled on her small winter-coat and scarf. On her way out, she was in a good enough mood to smile at the coworkers she passed by. Some returned her smile, some only smirked, a few others were daring enough to exchange whispers in front of her. But it didn’t matter – the night had been painfully slow, and the ‘mistake’ of being assigned the most dead section proved to be fortunate one. She was on her way home a few hours earlier than scheduled.

Walking into the night air, she waved to one of the kitchen staff smoking by the exit – the same guy who had greeted her yesterday. He spared her a wave, and a clear “Hey, ’melia” as she passed him out the door.

Evelyn stopped briefly, “Hey. How’s it going?”

The guy just shrugged, “Dead.”

Evelyn grinned, mentally pocketing the cop’s substantial tip tucked in her purse. “Same here.”

When: Mid-Morning

Agatha had been under the weather for the past two days, much to the bane and relief of Lily. While she was not having to attend any important dinners or anything, she still had the account books to go over, especially after the generous donations made in the Pennington family's name for the theater and art museum. There were some... odd notes made about certain funds but Lily had learned long ago not to ask too many questions. It was like something out of a mystery novel.

Who: Roy and Lily
Where: The Alexandrian Library
When: Late afternoon

Lily wasn't supposed to be working that day, having called off so she could go shopping but Jessica said something about not feeling well and the library was so slow anyway. Considering the director was absent as well, Lily had all sorts of ideas on how Jessica wasn't 'feeling' well. Which left Lily re-organizing the entire young adult section because no one seemed to care to put the titles in order.

B&W

Who: Aaron
Where: O'Malley territory
When: All of Jan 12th

Aaron had left Sam's apartment in a very good mood, despite, or perhaps because of her yelling. He had paused outside the door to light a smoke while he waited for a cab, and the doorman, who looked about to burst, struck up a conversation about the front page story in the paper. He appeared to be quite pleased that the corrupt officials in the city were going to get what was coming to them. The man actually seemed to think that there would be justice and good to come of it all.

Ian - stormy

Who: Ian and Sam
Where: The Drake
When: lunch time

Delores, the girl who worked the front desk, was on her lunch hour and Ian was minding her place while she was gone. It had been a quiet day for the most part, and he'd just spent the past half hour pouring over the sequence of letters from the wall in the library. He still hadn't figured out what they meant, but he had put together a few different words with the letters.

Cop - Ponder

Who: Jesse and Sam
Where: Jesse's Place
When: Late Morning

Late on her second day with no clue that the O'Malleys and the rest of the Syndicate had absolutely imploded. This was so not good. But who could blame her, right? Well, she could blame that weirdo Aaron for getting her back into bed. For not leaving as soon as he woke up and somehow throwing a tantrum like her little cousin. Which is why, she reasoned, she got stuck with questioning duty.

Who: Evelyn and Jackson
Where: The Drake Hotel - back of restaurant
When: Late-ish Evening

Jackson was in the mood for heavy drinking, and had been all day. Had been since getting beat up on the night he met Eris, actually, but there just hadn't been the time. Upon leaving Jenny's place, he had gone back home, removed his tie (why the hell were ties a thing, anyway? They just got in the way) and plundered the half-bottle of scotch in his cupboard. He took two shots, filled a hip flask, and went walking.

Where he ended up walking to, was the Drake Hotel. Then he walked inside, pulled himself into a fairly secluded table away from the flashy brightness of the gambling (he disapproved highly of gambling) and waited for a waitress, and lord help her if she wasn't pretty. He wanted to get as drunk as he possibly could and not have to think about anything even close to serious. Not Brett, not Danny, not Hollis - none of it. Just for one fucking night.

TIME UPDATE

mug shots

Date: Wednesday, January 12th

Weather: Another cloudy day in the city - though the sun actually threatens to break through in the afternoon. Doesn't actually properly make it, but it threatens.

Events: The Echo today has printed a ton of big headline news! In fact, it's even printed today with extra pages, due to as many big stories as are coming out. There are several names splashed across the front page, vying for dominance with the news that the police ended the killer's reign of terror in a shootout that ended with the killer dead. Commendations are being handed out to the officers involved, and there's expected to be a grand party thrown in their honor in the near future.

The names, well, those cause a stir in the city far and wide. Some are politician's names, some are well known Syndicate players(mainly O'Malleys!). All are thrown up together and in conjunction with one another. It's clear that there's going to be investigations launched all over, especially with the dirty dealings indicated in the articles. The source has been kept 'confidential', but the paper professes that it's all going to be followed up on.

Due to the paper's articles, the Syndicate has been in an uproar since the early morning. The ranks diminish by at least a quarter, just due to lackeys being killed because they weren't trusted. Beyond that, everyone's nervous, and everyone's talking. Who was the rat? Who even had all of that information? No one's sure, but interrogations are starting bright and early in the higher ranks.

Dreams: The celebrations of the Prophet's birthday continue today - one day apparently doesn't seem to be enough and the world keeps celebrating, though the continuing celebrations are all unofficial. There's no organisation to them at all.

And tonight something has changed about the dreams. Whereas until now the Wakings have all experienced individual dreams, now it seems that sometimes those dreams are shared, though the dreamers would not be aware of that. What this means is that two Wakings of the same type (ie Commons, Spires, Tides) may experience the same dream, though from different angles, being that they would still be seeing the dream through eyes which are not their own. For example, two Commons Wakings may experience the same dream, but as different 'characters' within that dream. Neither Waking would be aware that another dreamer is sharing the dream though.

If you have any events or anything going on which you think warrants a mention in the time update, please let us know!
