Please tell me you brought really good painkillers

Who: Jakob and Sam
Where: Station/Sam's apartment
When: Night (not long after the attack)
Sam didn't know how long she'd been laying on the ground at the park. She was kind of floating in the hazy aftermath for awhile, trying to get her wits about her. Her face felt like she'd been slammed face-first into the ground. She'd downed the rest of her flask and Sam wouldn't be able to say how she managed to get back into her apartment. She went through the back, not the front, to avoid being stopped by the well meaning doorman.
Comforts (unfinished)

Where: His place
When: Silly amounts of early.
Lenore was a little buzzy. She got that. The headrush of a fresh kill, perhaps. She hadn't wanted to go home. She wanted to exchange the dead, bloody lump that had been at her fingertips a few hours previously for something polar opposite. Something alive. And she had said she'd visit him again some time.
Sunday Dinner (TBC)

Who: Danny, Janey, Jackson
Where: The McKinnon place
When: dinner time
Danny hated working on Sundays because really, it's supposed to be a weekend day. Although, having to work did get him out of having to be at church all day with Janey. Pushing open the door to the apartment the first thing he noticed was the smell. Dinner and with a massive effort. "Janey?" he called as pulled off his hat and shucked out of his coat. Headed towards the kitchen he found her there, and opened the fridge, pulling out a beer. "That's a lot of food for two," he told her.

Who: Dutch and Evelyn
Where: Streets, Dutch's place
When: Late night
Someone was following her.
Evelyn picked up the pace, not running and not looking back, but walking briskly as her focus tuned in to the footsteps behind her. She had heard them echoing after her for at least a block now, and although her heart raced as they got closer she noticed they never got too close... yet. So she didn't run, because the streets had been otherwise empty and the shoes she wore from work were useless for running. Instead Evelyn kept her gaze straight, shoving her hands in her coat pocket where a knife -- a gift from her brother months ago -- was tucked away against her right side. She kept on walking as if she were confident; walking as if she knew exactly where she was going. ... walking as if she weren't lost in a seemingly barren part of the city at night. She was trying to make her way to the center of the city, someplace populated and familiar, keeping an ear on the footsteps while she fixed her eyes on the skyscrapers for orientation. She turned another corner, and finally spied something hopeful across the street: a phone. She made a beeline for it, safely locking herself in the booth before grabbing the phone off the cradle... only to hear nothing and belatedly spot the 'Out of Order' sign beside it. Fuck.

who: roy and jenny
where: the park
when: mid day
Roy was out wandering. And, like people had been predicting, he wasn't actually feeling all that great. He had a cough, a sore throat, and yeah, he was fairly certain he was getting a cold. Or had one. One of the two. After pausing to have another coughing fit, he started walking again, in the middle of a fever-flash. His body couldn't pick a temperature. It was either blazingly hot, or he had the shivers. All in all, it wasn't the most entertaining way to spend his day.

Where: Fontaine Park
When:: Nighttime
Warnings: NSFW
Sam had not taken her car to Nighthawk's that evening for her Sunday Night Apple Pie A'La Mode. The rain had stopped and even though it was still cold and all around not nice outside, Sam was still glad to be outdoors, like any other citizen of the city. You take better weather where you can get it.

Where: Casa De Maddy (The Hill Street Theater)
When: Late Morning
Maddy was drunk still. Sort of.
She had started late in the afternoon the previous day, the liquor store spread out on the top of her beat up dresser slowly dwindling as the hours wore on into today. Maddy was a small, tiny thing and to prolong the event, she'd stolen several loaves of bread and bottles of Coke from various places so she could get the most enjoyment from the schnapps and the Jack Daniels and the Jim Beam.

Who: Evelyn and Jesse
When: Late afternoon
Where: Jesse's apartment
Evelyn felt just as sick as she had professed to be the day earlier. Although in this case it was her guilt eating at her rather than any bug, and she knew it. But none of that made it any easier as she trod slowly up the stairs leading to Jesse's floor. Not at all. Not when she remembered that, before all this, 'unreliable' and her would have never been used in the same sentence. If she said she was going to do something or be somewhere, she was there and she was early. It had just been Her Thing... until now.
She didn't know why she was here -- actually, she did, but she didn't know exactly what she was planning to do here. She wanted to apologize, but a true apology would require the truth. And she wanted to tell the truth, and explain how it all started with a silly little lie that turned out to be all this trouble and she would take it back if she could and... but she had already spouted so many lies for what felt like so long that Evelyn just felt trapped into continuing it when a truth-telling moment arrived. But she was pretty sure bailing out on Jessie had been the shittiest move she'd ever pulled, and even if she couldn't come out with the truth that couldn't stop her from heading here after working brunch. Here. In front of Jesse's door. Right. Taking a breath, and telling herself that she was going to do this... whatever 'this' was... Evelyn knocked on the door.

TIME UPDATE
Submitted by mods on Fri, 01/08/2010 - 12:35.
Weather: The storm from yesterday stays steady through the wee hours, but tapers off after daybreak. After that it's mainly a light drizzle, clearing up in the afternoon to partly cloudy skies. It's windy and cold throughout.
Events: Nothing much is happening in town this evening, though the Echo has a nice piece on the party thrown for the officers, and little articles on each of them.
Today quiets down for the O'Malleys, though it's felt like everything's just waiting to topple, or cave in on itself. A lot of the lower ranks have fled by now, either aligning themselves elsewhere, or laying as low as possible while the dust settles. One of the remaining heads of the O'Malley family's apartment building had a fire, two people were reported as having died in it, though the identity of them hasn't been released to the public.
Dreams: No dreams tonight.
If you have any events or anything going on which you think warrants a mention in the time update, please let us know!
