girls are annoying!
Submitted by spitefire on Mon, 01/25/2010 - 06:55.
Who: Arden and Pepper
Where: Fontaine Park
When: Late Afternoon
Arden was beating up a tree.
And she must've looked like quite the sight, because respectable people approaching her in the park shot her appalled glances and moved to the other side of the path as they neared. All in all it was a smart move on their part. Her face was scrunched up in a fury that was as much feral as it was childish. It was the kind of expression that came with snarls and growls before you found something's sharp canines embedded in your leg.

Who: Danny and Maya
Where: The Walker residence
When: midday
The ball at the weekend had been far from all social for Maya. She'd actually had a few very interesting conversations with various people - you could have very different conversations in public than you had behind closed doors. people so did feel the need to keep face, and they'd agree to different things than they would when nobody would be watching them turn you down.

Where: Evelyn's Place
When: Evening
He'd considered just having someone follow her home after the ball, but instead he'd found out where she was staying through his normal means. So he'd gotten dressed in one of his favorite suits, wiped off his fedora and took Angelo's umbrella with him as he headed across town to her new digs.

who: eris
where: her loft
when: late
Eris sat in the center of her bed, files spread out around her. She'd gone over each of them at least once, thoroughly reading every piece of information in each, and now she was going through and trying to draw the lines between them. This would be a task much better suited to a woman who wasn't brain damaged, however. Really, while she could actually draw some parallels, match things up, that didn't mean she didn't think she was missing things. And she probably was, and she wouldn't even really notice.
Weaving webs
Submitted by crooked on Wed, 01/20/2010 - 00:51.Who: Jakob
Where: Police HQ, then One More Round
When: mid-morning
He couldn't shake the feeling, and that alone was bothering him to no end. Jakob knew himself so well, he was a creature of controlled chaos, a man who loved few things as much as chance itself. He lived to throw others into peril, to watch how they might thrive or wither, and he never cared when he did so. So what was different?
Sick is Not a Good State to Be
Submitted by no princess on Mon, 01/18/2010 - 15:22.Who: Pepper and Roy
Where: Under sixth street bridge
When: Early afternoon
Roy had just gotten done with some bitch work for the DiGiovanni's, number running or...whatever. Some package got delivered to some guy and that was about all he knew about it. But it meant he had the rest of the day off, too. He wasn't due to the garage til tomorrow, and generally, he'd been having a shit few days. Like getting sick. That wasn't at all helpful, really. As far as positive things went, that didn't make the list. That made the 'this sucks a lot, it can stop any time now' list.
cold
Submitted by overlooked on Mon, 01/18/2010 - 11:47.
It kept getting colder. Snow swirling down on the world, wintertime in full swing, spring would come eventually, but for a lot of people, not soon enough. Reports had been put out there that whole towns had died. Full communities, expiring because of the losses of power. Humanity was only really meant to exist in certain climes, and modern people didn't have much in the way of true survival instincts.
More snow was coming. The temperatures were still dropping, and the world still spun. There were of course memorials. Prayers sent up for the dead. Towns started standing empty as they became the tombs. Ghost towns were going to be a lot more common in the northern regions, and they started being documented on then net. Trails of the Frozen, lost souls.
But it was all for the greater good. It would all be okay in the end, right?
faceless

where: her place
when: afternoon
Cheyenne was in her loft, going through and developing film. She was in the little dark room she'd had put in, and was looking through the prints. She was starting to see a disturbing trend, one that made her spine itch between her shoulderblades. She'd taken a few months ago to taking some random shots of her surroundings, just in case she caught something interesting. Slowly, she was forming a larger and larger collection of images of someone standing just beyond where her camera focused.
Donuts and Revelations
Submitted by little_red on Sun, 01/17/2010 - 16:38.Who: Lily and Zhen
Where: Local Bakery
When: Morning
Lily needed to get out of the house despite the damp of the morning. She felt confined, suffocated inside the walls and while it was worse outside, at least there was more air to breathe, no walls feeling like they were closing in on her. She didn't have to go in to work for another hour or two, but she thought she'd go in early with some doughnuts or something.
Jessica would ask how the ball went and Lily would suffer through it. And Jenny. She really needed to see Jenny soon.
TIME UPDATE
Submitted by mods on Sun, 01/17/2010 - 14:24.
Weather: A heavy mist clings to the ground all through the day, with the sun being only a vague circle visible in the sky. It is a cold, dank day, with the mist making everything damp.
Events: The parties and events of the weekend are over as the city settles into another working week. The news - both in the Echo and the newsreels at the movies - are full of a battle lost in the war overseas, though there are no details of exactly where, or how many lives were lost. The cathedral holds a special sermon midmorning to comemorate the valiant dead and wounded.
Babylon stands empty, the police lines still barring entry to all, though someone has been up and supplemented these with boards nailed haphazardly across the entrances and windows. It's not a very good job though, and they could be easily removed.
The underground is buzzing with the news that the Giacomo family has put out a bounty on the head of one Arun "Johnny" Tang. $5000 if he's brought in alive, $3000 if he's brought in dead. The is no information for exactly why they want him so bad.
Dreams: The world turns and is divided by the seasons. Those in the northern hemisphere are experiencing their coldest months, and with the recent disasters, many people have found themselves without food and power. In some areas people are quietly starving to death, but it is only a handful who stand up to even attempt to complain about this. Of those, many are shouted down by their neighbours, who see any complaint as against the new and accepted way of life. It the warmer climes and southern hemisphere, these problems are absent and life continues as normal.
If you have any events or anything going on which you think warrants a mention in the time update, please let us know!
