Weather: New Years Day!!! New Year's Eve was a dark and stormy night, and that storm rolls overhead until at least mid morning. The streets are filled with discarded party favors, fliers and booze containers, and the parties don't die down until well after dawn. As the day goes on, the storm turns into a light drizzle, the skies lightening up only to a light grey overcast. Not once is the elusive sun seen.

Events: Today is a day where a whole lot of people sleep in and wake up with hangovers. Other than that there are a few events going on in town, though mostly it consists of people huddling under large umbrellas as they sell food and trinkets or trade items in the park. It's theme isn't set, it's just the New Years Day festival which happens every year. It starts around noon and goes on til around six.

Any vendors are encouraged to show up--though there are a lot of times that people don't. A few years back, the festival was attacked by some mafia faction or another(no one every found out who) and people were hospitalized. While the city continues to try and get people interested in it again and has doubled security, the city's occupants haven't so quickly forgotten the sound of gunfire while they were eating their funnel cakes.

Dreams: Any Wakings experiencing dreams only have fleeting dreams, the details of which fade immediately on waking and may leave them with a feeling of frustration at not being able to remember.

Weather: Another cold and cloudy day – but at least it has stopped raining! The lack on fresh rain, however, only seems to emphasise the dreariness of the streets today.

Events: Today is the grand opening of the new Eidolon City orphanage! The building was donated to the city last summer by the Walkers and a deal managed by the Hagels has seen Walker, as well as some DiGiovanni and Giacomo money, go into its refurbishment as a brand new orphanage for the city’s unwanted and abandoned children. It has been a carefully orchestrated public relations drive for all of the DiGiovanni affiliates, led by the Walker and Hagel families and fully supported by all.

Whilst the orphanage is not yet populated, the building is open all day for citizens to come and look round the new facilities and tonight the DiGiovanni family are hosting a gala dinner in honour of the Walker family for their kind and generous donation to the city. All the great and good are invited (which includes the higher levels of both mafia outfits within the city) – but also, the DiGiovannis have arranged for there to be a ‘lottery’ for some of the tickets, meaning that random people from the lower echelons of society have, in the past few weeks, received invitations to the ball. There should be quite a mix of people in attendance!

Weather: The day dawns cloudy and it starts to rain around nine. Just a dizzle - not enough to be proper rain, but just enough to be dull and depressing. The rain continues throughout the day and into the night.

Events: It's back to work day following the holiday. No big events.

Dreams: A small north African nation has announced to the world's press and national governments that they are disbanding their military. With peace spreading throughout the globe, the concept of a military is outmoded and unnecessary.

How this will come across for the different Wakings types:

Spires may have dreams of the announcements, of the reactions of governments throughout the world, of meetings of other nations etc.

Commons may have dreams of people involved - of soldiers laying down their weapons, of the reactions of their families, of the reactions of those people who were once their enemies.

Tides may have dreams associated with this event - either dreams of the current situation (similar to those experienced by the Spires or the Commons), dreams of the wars the antion was involved in in the past, or dreams of what happens to those now unemployed soldiers in the future.

Weather: Today the rain takes a break, even if it remains overcast. It's a generally dark day, the clouds above thick and oppressive, even if it's for once, dry out. It's also windy today, waves kicking up huge and there are advisories against going anywhere near the river.

Events: Rumors are going around about a killer in the city, though details can't be confirmed by anyone. Police sources are remaining tight lipped about it, and refused comment.

Dreams: Dreams tonight are similar to those last night, focusing on the nation that disbanded it's military, and world events surrounding that.

Weather: It's a brighter day today, almost sunshiney, with the occasional breaks of blue sky, though that's short lived. And seeming to make up for the daytime managing to be bright, torrential, heavy, violent rainstorms sweep the city after dark. Power outages are common, and some of the seedier parts of the city lose power and it doesn't return at all overnight.

Events: There are still rumors spreading like wildfire throughout the city about the supposed crazed killer stalking the streets. Seems everyone has a theory about it, though nothing's confirmed. The paper runs a story, that brings up all of the female 'missing persons' that have disappeared over the past few months, asking for any information regarding their whereabouts. Photographs have been provided when possible, though there's quite a few on the list that are only a first and last name, and in some cases, only a nickname was available and a vague description. People are urged to contact the police with any information regarding anyone listed, or any information that could help lead to an arrest. So far, no reward has been attached to it.

For the police's side, they're shaking down lower level mob members for any information they can get.

Dreams: For the waking, tonight’s dream hits hard and fast once more. Events are focused around the decommissioning of all nuclear facilities over the world – both weapons-based and energy-based. Facilities had already been run down to a bare minimum in any event, as people abandon work in favour of living in peace and harmony. On a national and international level, there is much talk about how to dispose of the existing and remaining nuclear waste and products.

Weather: Yesterday’s rainstorms continue throughout the night and well into the morning, finally tailing off just before lunchtime. The rainclouds continue to loom throughout the afternoon, but no more rain falls, leaving the city just dull and very very wet.

Events: It seems that there is, at least, a silver lining to the furore over the murders and yesterday’s news story on missing persons. Though it doesn’t make the front page, there is a story on page 5 of the Echo about how one of the missing girls – a teenager by the name of Gillian Sanderson – found her way home yesterday, after she heard she was listed amongst the missing and thought dead. Today’s headline news though, is still the possibility that there is a ‘Ripper’ on the loose.

Today is 12th night – the twelfth day after Christmas – and, as such, many of the city’s night spots are holding special nights to celebrate, with free entry for all in most places.

Weather: It's a very windy day today, with overcast skies. It's actually dry today, even if it isn't particularly bright outside.

Events: There's no new news today about the killer in the city, though there are rumors that another victim was found. No details have been released, however, and so far it's just speculation. Sources at City Hall refused to comment.

Rock Bottom has its grand opening tonight! Drink specials and live music are on the menu and all are welcome... although some will be closely watched.

Rock Bottom: Standing on the edge of Fontaine Park, Rock Bottom has been many things over the years. It has now re-opened as an Irish pub run by Moira O'Malley and the O'Malley family. The front of the house is where the "reputable" business is run- drinks flow, music is playing (sometimes live!), and there are billiards tables as well as some of the new "pin ball" tables in a room off to the side. The back rooms are where the "real" business of Rock Bottom takes place, however, and one would do well to not be back there without a very good reason.

There's a little dance held in the park, lanterns hung all over and there's live music. There's no alcohol served there, but there's food and some vendors. The dance goes until eleven, called earlier than usual due to the rumors of the killer stalking the streets.

Weather: The wind has dropped today, and whilst it remains heavily overcast, the rain stays away.

Events: It's become apparent to the city authorities that people are being more cautious on the streets at night throughout the city. Bars and clubs are closing earlier than normal and really the only people who seem to be making a profit from the current events are cabbies as people who may normally have walked home decide not to brave the streets. The city's reaction to this is to hold more events during the day, to try and stimulate commenrce in a different direction. Fontaine Park, therefore, is given over to an outdoor market for the weekend. Anyone who runs a business is entitled to run a stall - including any of the bars. The market will run throughout the weekend, opening at dawn and closing at dusk. There is a large police presence throughout the market.

Dreams: World events are progressing once again. Many countries throughout the world have declared mandatory vegetarianism. Some countries have gone so far as to declare animal farming completely illegal and ordered the mass release of all farm animals into the countryside.

Weather: It's back to miserable rain! Of couse. Those blue skies that the radio kept talking about are nowhere to be seen. It's a full on downpour most of the day, heading into proper storms at night. But the wind has stopped!

Events: Despite the city's cautionary measures against the rampant killer on the loose, another victim shows up in the early morning. One of the dancers at the Kitten Club, Stella, who presumably was grabbed on her way home from work. She was found by a neighbor taking out their trash. Stella was found only 100 yards from her building.

Dreams: Again, the effects of the passing of mandatory vegetarianism is being felt. More countries are considering it, and none have retracted their decision, despite some chaos the loose animals have caused since their release.

Weather: A wicked storm rages all night - full on thunder and lightning, though the storm dies down nearing dawn. Drizzling rain continues until midmorning and then stops, leaving a very damp, dull city for the rest of the day.

Events: The front page of the Echo today carries the story of Stella's death, and yet more about the possibility of a serial killer being loose in the city.

Some people in the city receive notes this morning. Each note is hand written, though not in any handwriting familiar to the recipient. Each note gives a time and a place to meet the anonymous sender. Each note is worded differently, but each note is worded in such a way that would best encourage the recipient to attend the meeting, even though they do not know who they are meeting. (For instance, if your character responds best to threats, it'll be threatening; if your character responds best to intrigue, or blackmail - ie, if best through other approaches, it would be that. Whatever would work best!) There is no suggestion in the note that the recipient is not the only person who received a note this morning. It seems very personal and as if someone really does want to talk to them about something which they cannot put down in writing (ie, there's no clue as to what the the meeting is about in the note other than there's something that someone wants to talk in person and maybe some vague allusions to important things that would get the recipient's attention).

In actual fact, the notes are paired - with two people getting a note with the same meeting place. Someone has set it up so that both people attending the meeting will do so under the belief that the other person set it up.

It's also the case that there are many of these meetings going on throughout the city. There seems to be no reason or structure behind the pairings - some meetings are between strangers, some end up being between friends, or people who have met before. Each meeting is set up in a remote place, with no other people around, and when the two people get to the meeting place, there is always something else there, though that 'something' changes from meeting to meeting and can be either positive or negative. It is, however, always something interesting.

Weather: The rain holds off today, though with the clouds above threatennig, it looks like it's constantly 'about to rain'. A dull day with an edge of cold that always seems like it's going to turn worse than it actually does.

Events: The news of the arrest of a man comes in the early edition of the City Echo. There aren't many details provided of the accused, just that they have apparently arrested someone on suspicion of multiple homicide. The police are fairly sure that they've got their guy.

Dreams: Today is the celebration of the birthday of the prophet. No real details of her are shown in any of the dreams, but throughout the world there are celebrations of this event.

Weather: Another cloudy day in the city - though the sun actually threatens to break through in the afternoon. Doesn't actually properly make it, but it threatens.

Events: The Echo today has printed a ton of big headline news! In fact, it's even printed today with extra pages, due to as many big stories as are coming out. There are several names splashed across the front page, vying for dominance with the news that the police ended the killer's reign of terror in a shootout that ended with the killer dead. Commendations are being handed out to the officers involved, and there's expected to be a grand party thrown in their honor in the near future.

The names, well, those cause a stir in the city far and wide. Some are politician's names, some are well known Syndicate players(mainly O'Malleys!). All are thrown up together and in conjunction with one another. It's clear that there's going to be investigations launched all over, especially with the dirty dealings indicated in the articles. The source has been kept 'confidential', but the paper professes that it's all going to be followed up on.

Due to the paper's articles, the Syndicate has been in an uproar since the early morning. The ranks diminish by at least a quarter, just due to lackeys being killed because they weren't trusted. Beyond that, everyone's nervous, and everyone's talking. Who was the rat? Who even had all of that information? No one's sure, but interrogations are starting bright and early in the higher ranks.

Dreams: The celebrations of the Prophet's birthday continue today - one day apparently doesn't seem to be enough and the world keeps celebrating, though the continuing celebrations are all unofficial. There's no organisation to them at all.

And tonight something has changed about the dreams. Whereas until now the Wakings have all experienced individual dreams, now it seems that sometimes those dreams are shared, though the dreamers would not be aware of that. What this means is that two Wakings of the same type (ie Commons, Spires, Tides) may experience the same dream, though from different angles, being that they would still be seeing the dream through eyes which are not their own. For example, two Commons Wakings may experience the same dream, but as different 'characters' within that dream. Neither Waking would be aware that another dreamer is sharing the dream though.

Weather: The wind picks up mid-morning and continues throughout the day. It's an incredibly windy day!

Events: Those in the know were aware that last night (gone midnight) there was a meeting of all the powers of the O'Malley family at Rock Bottom, which closed early to host it. They all arrived, together with their bodyguards and the meeting commenced - a terse and stressful affair, talking about everything that seemed to be going wrong. The meeting was watched silently by a man representing the wider Konovich Syndicate.

During the meeting, Moira O'Malley excused herself for a bathroom break. She didn't return. Eventually her bodyguard was sent looking for her - and she was discovered, in pieces, strewn across the bathroom floor. Very, very dead. The meeting broke up pretty damn quickly after that. But by morning, the word was out - it was open season on the O'Malleys.

Weather: The wind calms down, but the day is a dark overcast with a miserable drizzle that won't quit, it turning to proper rain later in the night.

Events: The Echo today reports on Moira O'Malley's death, sighting her as a 'high profile' person, and noting that she'd recently opened the Rock Bottom. No suspects are named, no one was seen at the scene, and generally speaking, it seems everyone's a whole lot of clueless.

In positive news, there's a ball being held tomorrow night, courtesy of the Walker family to honor the policemen involved in ending the city's latest terror--the killer that stalked the streets is no more! Medals for heroism are being given out, High society is invited, along with any police department employees and their families.

Dreams: Tonight, dreams are filled with mixed news. There is a focus for the world of a specific, radical group that broke in and tried to shut down a nuclear power plant by force and things got out of control, leading to a meltdown. Hundreds of lives were lost, and governments are all reassessing nuclear power in general. The biggest item on the table is requiring every government to go green as soon as possible, an idea that seems to be getting good reception.

Weather: It's a stormy day and night, though not overly windy. Just very rainy, with loud thunder and bright lightning displays throughout the night.

Events: The Echo today has more stories of murder and mayhem across the city, though it's more a list of names beneath the fold. The headline is given to the ball the Walkers are throwing, and the ceremony for the police officers involved in the 'apprehension' of the killer that had been plaguing the streets. All officers are expected to attend, along with their families, so they can be duly honored by the city.

Today is quieter within the remaining ranks of the O'Malleys, though there are still a few deaths. Things are unstable at best, and it's clear it's unravelling. The rest of the Syndicate is standing by, to see how it'll unfold, but have done little to help the O'Malley's themselves.

Dreams: More news is had about the world requiring nations to go green. Most do so without a fuss, though there are some which are more reluctant, causing tensions between nations.

Weather: The storm from yesterday stays steady through the wee hours, but tapers off after daybreak. After that it's mainly a light drizzle, clearing up in the afternoon to partly cloudy skies. It's windy and cold throughout.

Today quiets down for the O'Malleys, though it's felt like everything's just waiting to topple, or cave in on itself. A lot of the lower ranks have fled by now, either aligning themselves elsewhere, or laying as low as possible while the dust settles. One of the remaining heads of the O'Malley family's apartment building had a fire, two people were reported as having died in it, though the identity of them hasn't been released to the public.

Weather: A heavy mist clings to the ground all through the day, with the sun being only a vague circle visible in the sky. It is a cold, dank day, with the mist making everything damp.

Events: The parties and events of the weekend are over as the city settles into another working week. The news - both in the Echo and the newsreels at the movies - are full of a battle lost in the war overseas, though there are no details of exactly where, or how many lives were lost. The cathedral holds a special sermon midmorning to comemorate the valiant dead and wounded.

Babylon stands empty, the police lines still barring entry to all, though someone has been up and supplemented these with boards nailed haphazardly across the entrances and windows. It's not a very good job though, and they could be easily removed.

The underground is buzzing with the news that the Giacomo family has put out a bounty on the head of one Arun "Johnny" Tang. $5000 if he's brought in alive, $3000 if he's brought in dead. The is no information for exactly why they want him so bad.

Dreams: The world turns and is divided by the seasons. Those in the northern hemisphere are experiencing their coldest months, and with the recent disasters, many people have found themselves without food and power. In some areas people are quietly starving to death, but it is only a handful who stand up to even attempt to complain about this. Of those, many are shouted down by their neighbours, who see any complaint as against the new and accepted way of life. It the warmer climes and southern hemisphere, these problems are absent and life continues as normal.

Weather: Today is a day full of scattered showers. It's cool out, and bright clouds overcast the sky. It's brighter than usual, but the sun never appears, and that rain keeps deciding it isn't done yet all day and into the night.

Events: Adam's jewellers down on Fourth was broken into overnight. Word is that the job was done by an independent - neither mob faction seems to know anything about it - and the DiGiovannis in particular are fuming about it - apparently they used that place as a front for laundering money, though it was one of they're incredibly QT outlets. More than likely, whoever did it, didn't know they just hit a mob place. There's going to be a lot of folks looking for those guys.

There's no word on whether the bounty on Johnny Tang has been claimed yet - some said he wouldn't last a day, other still hold that it'll be out there for a while yet. Everything is, of course, just rumours.

The theatre's got a new movie in today, just released, direct from Hollywood - apparently it's a good one as well. They're showing it back to back with an old-loved classic and have a special offer on tickets.

Weather: The day is cold and dull, with a scattering of snow, though it doesn’t settle on the ground.

Events: Two bodies are dragged out of the river just before dawn. Both male, and unidentifiable, showing signs of torture before death. A message carved into the chest of the younger of the two makes it clear that these are the two jewellery thieves from yesterday’s hit on Adam’s Jewellers. The DiGiovanni family profess to know nothing about it. After all, they are legitimate business people. The underground, however, speaks differently.

The underground also is full of the buzz that Johnny Tang has gone missing. Possibly that bounty has been claimed. Or maybe the man’s managed to skip town. Either way, it’s unlikely he’ll be seen again.

Midmorning, a further body is found. This time it is of an unidentified female – a young Japanese girl. The cause of her death is so far unclear.

Dreams: Tonight’s dreams are different, and very specific. Every Waking dream is focused around one single event – a summit between world leaders and hosted by the Prophet. Each Commons Waking dreams that they are one of the world leaders. Each Spires Waking takes the part of a reporter or translator overseeing the encounter. Tides Wakings see the event from any position, but all Wakings experience the dream as a person, and they can interact fully with other attendees. (Note, the only person who cannot be taken as a role in the dream is the Prophet herself)

Weather:Yesterday's snow flurries didn't last and they're gone today, though the day remains grey and chilly and starts with a ground frost.

Events: The Echo reports that the unidentified Japanese girl found dead yesterday was thought to be a girl called Ki, though sources are unconfirmed and nobody seems to be able to connect the girl to a family, or say what her surname was.

Also reported in the Echo today is a housefire out towards the suburbs which resulted in the death of one Rossetta Hardy, wife of a former captain in Eidolon City who himself died some years ago, though his killer was never brought to justice.

Weather: It's another day of cold, and unfortunately, freezing rain. It's on and off all day, leaving the entire city covered in sheets of beautiful if dangerous ice. There are a lot of car accidents on the roads, and more than one house fire from people's fireplaces getting out of control.

Events: Early in the morning, a woman out walking her dog near Bedlam's property reported 'suspicious things just beyond the treeline'. When the cops got around to checking it, which was more heading towards the afternoon, several bodies were discovered, all covered in ice. So far none of the victims names have been released, though there's wild rumor running around that they're escaped patients from the asylum. Either way it's anyone's guess, and there's call in the evening edition of the Echo and put out over the radio waves for volunteers to search the surrounding woods tomorrow at first light.

Dreams: It is announced in world wide news that economically, a lot of businesses are failing. Fast food places are becoming things of the past, and causing widespread financial ruin, along with hundreds of thousands of people being out of work with nothing new popping up in it's place to provide work. Many governments are reporting distress over being unable to support these people any longer, though no solution has been reached so far. The larger picture is seen as it all being for the best, and it will get worked out.

Weather: The weather continues, freezing rain and ice buildup around the city's causing widespread problems. In the less fortunate neighborhoods, there are power blackouts going on and off all day, then around late afternoon it cuts out completely. Even power in the nicer parts of the city flicker now and then. Some parts of the city don't have water periodically, considering a lot of pipes are bursting. A lot of businesses are closed today.

Events: There is no word on who the frozen bodies were that were found yesterday. The Echo can't report much beyond the search effort going on, even if it's made more difficult by the weather. Searchers are told never to separate from at least a group of two people or more.

Public opinion is leaning towards the idea that the bodies are the result of foul play, and whispers about a new killer are being heard.

Weather: While the freezing rain stops sometime during the wee hours, the city remains cold with a wicked, icy wind that keeps steady all day. That means the ice buildup in the city is just as bad as yesterday, and there are still power and water problems all over the city.

Events: Fire crews responded to a blaze at Imperial Court Laundry in Chinatown late last night, and after the blaze was contained, nine bodies were recovered from within. Initial reports from the police responding to the scene report signs of foul play, though no specifics are given from the police. Rumor on the street, however, is that this was a hit against the Lotus.

In other news, there is still no word on the identities of the bodies found by Bedlam. The searches that went on didn't turn up anything, though they also didn't get far due to the weather. Another search is scheduled for today, though the turnout for the second search is meager at best.

Dreams: Tonight dreams seem to be more centrally located, all taking place in Russia where mass body burnings are happening due to whole town populations dying off from the cold and the power shortages that were going on earlier.

Weather: The rain starts with a vengeance just after midnight, and a storm rages until the early hours of the morning, but when dawn breaks, it breaks with clear skies. Today is actually, for once, a nice day – clear blue skies, broken occasionally by little fluffy blue clouds. It’s still a little damn underfoot, and it’s fairly cold, but it’s a lovely day!

Events: It seems that the village has entered the collective consciousness of the population of Eidolon City. Whereas before yesterday, nobody knew of its existence, now everyone knows, and everyone seems to have always known that the village is there. There are no surprised exclamations about an old fashioned village being located in the middle of the woods, it’s simply something that has always been, and everyone now knows how to get there.

Behind whatever limited info the Echo's Matt Hatterson could find on the frozen bodies and Chinatown fires, on page 4 of the Echo is an engaging human interest piece titled "Just A Cop: An Interview with Samantha Tyler, ECPD Homicide Detective" providing an informative, casually honest portrait well-suited for the the subject interviewed.

Weather: Nice weather never lasts very long in Eidolon City, it seems – whereas yesterday was a lovely day, overnight the clouds head back in again, leaving the morning to dawn dull and grey. No rain though, so that’s something at least.

Events: The rumors circulating around the streets yesterday finally hit the Echo's front page today: a midnight raid took place down at the docks last night, focusing on what the police allege were holdings of the Jade Lotus and Bartelucci family. The paper reports that casualties abounded on all sides, one warehouse was demolished, and the police force itself has yet to issue a formal account of their actions aside from the fact that the raid was commanded by Detective Samantha Tyler and that their deepest sympathies extend to the families of the brave officers who lost their lives.

What the Echo doesn't carry is the rumor that someone else was hitting the docks as well, someone who had no qualms about killing Lotus and Bartelucci alike. The Barteluccis are offering a top-dollar bounty for any information on whoever attacked their people, while the Lotus seem to have gone to ground and retreated well within their boundaries of Chinatown. The DiGiovanni as a whole are looking very closely among their own people for who might have tipped the police off, and plenty of low-level snitches and soldiers whisper about the potential for fullscale gangland violence that could erupt at any moment.

The Society pages of the paper are all abuzz with the latest social event – a charity fundraiser is being hosted by the Mayor tomorrow night at the Drake Hotel. Invitations to the cream of society have been sent out, and tickets are available for sale to anyone else who can afford the price tag. It will be this week’s place to see and be seen!

People are coming up with new and different ways to get through the winter without hurting or killing anyone, and without working too hard. Weather: The dull weather continues, grey clouds blotting out the sun all day, and it's cold. Storm clouds crowd the horizon by nightfall, but the storm itself doesn't come until just before midnight, when the heavens open, accompanied by a grand display of thunder and lightning.

Events: Dual fires create today's headlines!

There were two fires in the city overnight. The first was in an apartment building - apparently, it seems, someone in a ground floor apartment left a cigarette burning and the whole place went up. Most of the residents got out with only minor injuries and smoke inhalation, but when the flames died down, they found two bodies in one of the upper apartments. The bodies have been identified as Lily Mayfair and Jennifer Haas. Their families have been informed.

In another part of town, the 'Hotel' Babylon was burned to the ground over night. Th fire crew in attendance have stated that this fire was definitely arson. It does seem the building was empty when it went up, though the local homeless have claimed they saw a woman in the vicinity.

Tonight is the night of the Mayor's event at the Drake Hotel. It is very much all glitz and glamour, with guests arriving from 8pm. Anyone who could afford to purchase a ticket is welcome to attend.

Weather: A huge storm rages from midnight until dawn. Heavy rainfall, thunder, lightning, the works. The rain tails off just after dawn, and doesn't restart for the rest of the day, but there are reports of some minor flooding along the riverbanks.

Events: Today's papers are full of the news of yesterday's gala event at the Drake. Who was seen talking to whom, what people were wearing and all the latest fashions.

Meanwhile, there has been a filtering change in the city, which has been taken into the consciousness of all the inhabitants without question - the path out in the woods to the village is now a road, leading off from the edge of the city into the woods. Everyone knows where it goes, and any Fairytale Aspects today feel it calling to them as though it should be somewhere they should visit.

Weather: Today is a gray day, with no real clouds in the sky but it's overcast entirely. Like someone dumped gray paint in the sky. It doesn't rain, but a cold breeze whips through the city after dark, even if all day it's still.

Events: The big story today is a huge front page spread in the Echo about corruption in the police force, all the way up to the commissioner. There's definitely evidence reportedly out there implicating him in a whole lot of dirty dealings. The Echo is calling for a wholesale review of the force and weeding out all the corrupt officers and officials. Public outcry is already being heard in the streets, it seems no one can talk about anything else!

The village still seems to be calling to the Fairytale Aspects, and there's a small gathering at the pub there.

Tonight, as it's been loosely advertized is the reported final show for the shrouded angel at the One More Round.

Weather: Today is shockingly an absolutely beautiful day! It's a bright blue sky, fluffy clouds, the sun is warm, making temperatures rise to unseasonably warm.

Events: Due to the allegations brought against him, the commissioner steps down early in the morning. This leaves the police force in a total shambles, as everyone scrambles to deal with the sudden vacancy. More allegations seem to be brought to the table to more and more people, a domino effect sweeping through Eidolon's higher branches of city government. It's chaos at city hall today, utter chaos.

Reported late on the radio comes the news that the commissioner shot himself at his home after ignoring phonecalls and visitors all day. He was found by his wife.

Weather: It's more cloudy today than it has been, though it's still a nice day, and the breeze in the air wafts a faint smell of smoke over the city for most of the day.

Events: Three fires broke out over the city overnight, and whispers are beginning to break out about whether someone is setting them deliberately. The police have launched an investigation into this. Last night's targets were a restaurant down by the river; a downtown office building and an abandoned apartment block by the docks.

Nobody has been hurt by the fires - all of the locations were empty or abandoned at the time the fires started.

Today there's a city wide celebration going on, with parades, sidewalk sales and artwork on display, entertainment in the park and many businesses have special sales and events going on. It's the Founder's Day holiday, leaving the city's spirits high as the party goes well into the night and into the wee hours of the next morning.

Events: Today the City Echo is bearing a follow up article on the bodies discovered outside of Bedlam Asylum, with police reporting that they've identified four of the deceased. Detective Samantha Tyler is quoted from her police report as saying that there is no possibility that any of the dead were escaped patients, and that of the six, four are confirmed as former associates of the O'Malley crime family. Detective Jakob Hollis is issuing a plea to the families and friends of the known dead asking for help in identifying the remaining two, so that their remains may be passed on accordingly.

In the society section of the Echo, an announcement is made regarding an art exhibition going on display tomorrow night! The Walker family is sponsoring the event, the first show of an unknown local artist, Angelo Lacoste. The exhibit is open to the public and will be on display for one week's time with all displayed works available for sale, though the opening night is billed as a semi-formal affair.

There's been an announcement by the police department -- (the acting head while they're still scrambling to find a new commissioner) the fires of late have definitely been declared arson. They're asking for any information anyone has on any of the blazes, no suspects have been named.

Weather: It's an incredibly clear day. There's a light, pleasant breeze that drifts through the city throughout the day. Temperatures are comfortable.

Events:
Angelo Lacoste's exhibition is tonight! It's fully open to the public, with cocktails provided to this semi-formal affair.

Quietly, the path to the village springs up two more paths. One to the colosseum, the other to the theater. The three areas are located close together, and it is possible to get from one area to another along interlinking paths, though there are small areas of woodland inbetween them. In other news, the Boardwalk has it's grand opening!

On the opposite end of the city along the river from the warehouse district and the docks is the boardwalk. It's been there for as long as anyone can remember, though most of the time it only had a couple of attractions or shops open at a time. Very occasionally, there would be a traveling show that would set up shop there, but for the most part it has been a run down place and area, just dangling on the edge of closure. Recently, it was purchased and shut down, construction going on for several weeks with no real public announcement as to what was being done with it.

Unknown to anyone outside the Konovich family, they purchased it. And they worked with those who kept the place running over the years, called in contacts through their own family and those working there, and they built the place up. It'll be opening this evening, a much more fully operating amusement park, with carnival games, rides (that have been commissioned from traveling shows and fixed up), souvenir shops, and a few candy shops and eateries. Nothing is brand new or state of the art, but it's better than anyone can ever recall it being. It's employees are a mixture of people who have stayed there for years, tending to the dying place and new hirees from town (both Syndicate affiliates and civilians).

The prices are set fairly low, wanting to cater to a wider selection of people in the city and not just to the rich with enough pocket change to look for diversion. It means there's a wide range of people who attend.

Dreams: Tonight the dreams center in on a small community that sprung up around an oasis in the Nevada desert. It is quite clearly a cult sort of situation, one that's doomsday clock is ending it's run. They worship the prophet, but believe to truly transcend, they all must die. News crews are covering the event, and no one is stopping them.

Weather: The clear weather continues, though it's colder today than it was yesterday, especially after dark. The night sky, though, it crystal clear.

Events:
Dawn seems to break early, though it's a false image - the lights are actually the reflections of flames in a downtown residential neighbourhood. The early hours are filled with putting out the fires, and by midmorning the tale comes out. or, at least, a tale. Apparently a fire was purposefully started in an abandoned tenement block, and quickly spread to nearby houses. Thankfully most people got out alive, but a mother and two small children have been reported missing.

Futhermore, and apparently unrelated to the fire, by midday a rumor has circulated through the city's street kids and homeless, that Dodge, the well known street kid, has been killed and his boys were rounded up by the authorities and taken to the orphanage. No one is sure exactly what happened but everyone has a guess as to who finally got a hold of him. With the problems of the large scale fire and the inability to deny that there is at least one major arsonist on the loose, investigating the rumours of the death of another street kid is given low priority.

But, as all things in Eidolon City, no matter what happens, life goes on and it's a Friday night. All the major joints in town have things happening tonight. The Kitten Club have their best dancers on, the One More Round their new singer, The Drake has a jazz band playing, and the Boardwalk is still the newest place to be in town. There's something for everyone out there.

Weather: Today is a cold, windless day that has drizzling rain earlier and storms after dark. There's much more thunder and lightning than rain, however, all sound and fury with little in the way of torrential rain.

Tonight the rampant arsonist strikes again! This time they don't manage to completely down a building, however The Drake is hit! It damages several rooms, and there's a death toll of five due to smoke inhalation. No one was caught, no one even spotted a suspect, unfortunately, but it's sending a whole lot of rumblings through both mafia families, the DiGiovanni clearly wondering if it's an attack by the Syndicate, and the Syndicate wondering if one of their number has gone off on their own agenda.

There is no official police word on anything, though it's expected that a new acting Commissioner will be named soon, hopefully to fill the position fully when elected, and Senior Detective Jacob Hollis has been named as one of the candidates.

Weather: Today is a rainy day, a steady if light rain all day. The temperatures are hovering in the sixties, even if that's a bit warmer than it has been. It's a very dark day, the sun never even attempting to come out through the thick, dark grey overcast.

Events:

Another major city-wide event going on is there's warfare in the streets. Just, surprisingly, not done by the mafia. No, in the absence of Dodge's gang and it's perceived influence, street gangs are rising up all over, forming with the rather large population of street kids. It starts with fist fights in the morning, graduates to group brawls in the afternoon and by nightfall, there's blood in the streets and up to ten deaths. No one involved is over the age of twenty, and no one seems to know what to do about it. The streets are definitely unsafe for the day, however, and it's all due to children and teenagers.

Front page news in the Echo today is yesterday’s fire at the Drake Hotel. Clearly another arson attack, this one was a much more high profile target and resulted not only in horrific property damage, but the deaths of three hotel guest and the hospitalisation of a dozen more with burns and smoke inhalation.

The DiGiovanni family is not amused by this turn of events. The Drake has been forced to close for renovation, cutting off a large revenue stream, and the deaths and injuries are never good for business. As hotel manager, Ian Sullivan is called in to see the family to explain events, along with anyone else who was at the scene and who is ‘available’ for the family to talk to. The family are very interested in rumours which were overheard at the scene that this fire may not have been set by the same person as had caused the others. The word ‘copycat’ is doing the rounds. The family is insistent on knowing everything anyone may know, no matter how vague or unlikely and they will chase down all leads - in fact they have tasked Max DiGiovanni with doing just that, giving him license to do 'whatever it takes' (though he has been asked to use discretion wherever possible). The family now have as their top priority finding whoever started this fire and, no matter who they are, they will be dealt with in a very efficient and final way.

Weather: The rain breaks today, a wind starting to come through. It's a warm wind, even if the sun doesn't quite make an appearance. Still, it gives the city a warmer feel, drying up all the puddles and teasing with something like a promise of spring.

Events: After the day's violence yesterday, the streets are at least quieter today. That doesn't mean there isn't activity, however. Several of the survivors from yesterday start forming up bands of gangs, small at the start of the day, but by the end there's a few larger ones forming. There's a buzz among the street kids about it all, new leaders rumoring to be coming forth.

There are a few clashes of the smaller gangs, though nothing like yesterday. There's still no solid word on anything to do with the arsonist or the Drake fire, thought no new fires are set tonight.

The Midwinter Music Festival begins today, despite the troubles in the city. Most public places, from the smallest cafe to the grandest club have some kind of musical entertainment, and the variety is breath-taking. the only place that has had to scale down it's plans is the Drake. The place is still reeling from the fire damage and the smell of smoke lingers throughout. Today the building is being assessed formally by the fire department for its structural safety, whilst the hunt for the arsonist continues by the very unhappy DiGiovanni clan.

Given that the Drake is usually hosts the jewel in the crown of all the Midwinter Festival events, the Konovich Syndicate has, of course, jumped at the opportunity to steal that from the DiGiovannis and this year, the grand opening is to be held in the Kitten Club. Of course, all DiGiovanni associates have been invited to the event and underworld whispers have it that there is an unofficial ceasefire for today only between the two clans. Assuming, of course, that no evidence arises that the Syndicate had anything to do with the Drake fire of course...

Weather: Today torrential storms sweep the city, with a light show in the sky to put on the record books. There are high winds and even the river floods in some areas, making it a day to get somewhere and stay there!

Events: There's still buzzing among the street kids about new gangs rising up, though there's still little information on who might be seizing power.

There's a huge party being thrown at the One More Round, basically just for the hell of it. It's a rough and rowdy crowd, but certainly the turnout is large!

Weather: The storms of yesterday have swept away entirely, leaving a calm if cloudy day in their wake. It's not too cold but not exactly warm, temperatures staying in a mid-range between.

Events: Shortly before dawn, a body is found on the steps of the Eidolon City Police Department. The body has been mutilated beyond all recognition and is quickly removed. Around the neck of the body is a sign that reads 'Congratulations Commissioner Hollis. Your Welcome for the Fire Bug'.

A package arrives at the Echo containing several photographs of the body during what must have been hours of torture. A simple letter states that the arsonist was Miro Tabor, a Romanian immigrant. Also included is a bloody, signed confession from Miro that the Echo has the option of giving to the police department or not.

Beyond that, there's the celebration for the new Commissioner, which is a rather large deal throughout the city.
