What happens when an Aspect dies in Eidolon City?
Because Eidolon City is an illusion, death isn't really death - especially not for Aspects. Aspects are formed by the collective unconscious, and they are formed because they are needed in one form or another. This means that they will always be present in one form or another. Thus, if an Aspect dies in Eidolon City, that Aspect will reappear again, just not in exactly the same form.
What happens is that they 'reappear' elsewhere in the illusion. More information about this can be found on the Game Play page, but in summary what this means for you, the player, is that the death of a character doesn't have to mean the end.
This does not mean that you have to have a character reappear in the game if they get killed within the game environment, but it is an option for you. It does, of course, mean that your character will lose their history and contacts within the city and you will be starting them from scratch, but what this also means is that if you have written your character into a corner, or you don't like where they've ended up, you can 'restart' as a different incarnation. We hope that this helps with some of the issues we have seen players (including ourselves!) find themselves with in the past.
What this also means is that throughout the period of the game, Aspects of a certain type may have several incarnations, though there will only ever be one incarnation at a time. If someone leaves the game, someone else will be allowed to apply for a different character covering that Aspect type.
