What is a 'significant person'?

A significant person is the name given in the game for considering player characters. It isn't something that the characters themselves would be aware of, but it's a concept that is useful to consider when looking at the game.

What it is a reflection of the nature of Eidolon City. The City is set up to take into account two main groups of people - the Dreamers who make the city what it is, and the Aspects which the Dreamerss added, because they need them there. Clearly, the Aspects and the Dreamers can't make up the entire population of the city, but everyone else is just padding, not important in any way.

Consider it in movie terms - in most films, there are a lot of extras, but nothing really ever happens to the extras. The plot and events always happens to the named characters. It's the same in Eidolon City - the plot and happenings always happens to player characters. The NPCs aren't important. They're there, but they're just the masses.

Whether they are Aspects or Dreamers, significant person are drawn to one another, though they don't know it. A significant character walks into a bar and the random stranger they strike up a conversation with is more than likely going to turn out to be another significant person. That's just the way it is.

What this means from an OOC perspective is that the game has given you, the player, a reason for your first interactions with new people. The game legitimises those weird coincidences we all end up trying to manufacture to get our characters out there meeting new people. It's an effort to help you integrate and get on in the game!
