Character Profile

Name: Cheyenne (stage name: Shy Anne) Emily Walker

Age: 19

Gender: female

Type: Wakings - Commons

Appearance:

With hair that's actually white, she's someone who stands out. She occasionally tries to put a little yellow-blonde into her hair but it doesn't take very well, and generally washes out only after a few days or so. Her eyes are a pale, light blue, and they stand out as well, and often she's told they're doll-eyes. The doll idea is helped along by the fact that she's very naturally pale, has a round sort of face, and body-shape in general. She isn't an angular sort of girl, even if she's thin.

Style wise, Cheyenne is fairly eclectic. She most certainly likes dressing up and with the way she was brought up and such, she's always had the means to do so. But she's just as comfortable in comfy clothes that have seen much better days, when she's going low-key, or just having a day where she wants to veg out.

Personality:

Cheyenne is a social type of person, who enjoys being engaged with people. Family, friends, etc. She likes gatherings, parties, and keeping people happy. She's a people pleaser at heart, even if she doesn't let people walk all over her. (though even then, a lot of times she will for a while, she's just not entirely spineless) She's smarter than most people give her credit for. Generally she's actually a pretty sharp cookie, but most people just think model=braindead, and a pinup girl...well that means braindead and easy. Well she's neither.

She likes to have fun, and she likes to try and make sure that everyone else is enjoying themselves too. She's a good hostess, the type who doesn't spend a lot of time off in the corner talking to any one person--she's around talking to everyone, and paying attention to Mr. Grumpy over in the corner looking put out. She's adaptable to people and situations, and can get along with a lot of different personality types. She can be spontaneous, and likes to go with a good idea if one strikes. She's motivated, and it doesn't take much to get her rolling on something. Once she is, she will very likely follow through to the end, even in the face of adversity.

Sexuality:

Bisexual is the short answer. The long answer is that she actually has more of a sexual attraction to men--but prefers how she's treated by women more. Generally speaking her relationships with men have soured and almost inevitably it came down to the fact that they never understood the reality vs fantasy aspects of her job vs home life, and women did. She often jokes that her perfect mate would be a gay man, only she wouldn't be perfect for them.

City History:

Cheyenne has had a very odd life. Horrific in some parts, and just plain strange in others, at least it can't ever be said that it's been dull. It started out alright...then when she was about four, things took a massive turn for the absolutely freaking horrible, and she was witness to her mother being burned to death. That has thankfully been entirely buried in her subconsious, but she has no memories of the event or previous because of it. After that happened she was taken in (read: stolen) by the Walker family.

While she wasn't given a proper replacement for her mother and father(she was told they'd died in a car accident when she was a baby), she sort of became the communal child of the family itself. She had tons of 'aunts' and 'uncles' and was treated quite well. Mostly, even if she didn't know it, she was being groomed to be a wife later in life to whoever was coming into power.

She's always known things were a little 'off'. It's hard to miss when people always stop talking and change the subject when you walk into a room, and it becomes clear once you're old enough to hear off color discussion that it still happens. So she was always aware that there was something else going on beneath the surface of her kind of odd family. However, with the way she was shuffled around between households, grand as they may be and all, it was hard for her to piece together much of anything solid. She's not stupid, of course, and has heard the whispers about crime family connections, and other things, but she never was able to witness anything solid that could confirm or deny things.

Growing up, the single thing she was most complimented on was her looks. She had a doll-like quality about her face, pale, startling blue eyes, and of course, her hair was white. So she had a different thing to offer than a lot of other girls. That was how she got into modeling in the first place. Her family really wanted their daughter to have a lot of attention, and entered her into pageants, brought her to every open modeling call, etc. And hey. It worked. She definitely got in. At first, it was just local things, store openings, clothing shots for catalogs, but it didn't take long for other people to start making propositions.

She ignored them at first, since it wasn't really something that held a lot of interest for her. Really, girls don't generally grow up thinking to themselves 'pin-up girl, that's the life for me!' When she was sixteen, she gave it a very experimental shot with some racier images, doing a single photoshoot that she actually set up and did herself. Well, it really didn't take long to get noticed for it, and having a lot of offers with significant dollar value attached to them. At least, what seemed significant to her sixteen year old self.

So that was how she got into things in the first place. It paid better than other modeling jobs, and the atmosphere seemed to be more relaxed. Freer, where as things were very rigid with other photographers. It was something she chose herself as opposed to being brought to auditions for things by family members, she wasn't told so much what to do, it was just a wholly different experience and she liked that much better. At least, she did at first.

At first, it was fun, she got to draw the lines where she wanted them to be drawn, everyone was okay, things were fine. Then she got popular. That was really when things went downhill. Shy Anne worked for her as a stage name, because everyone assumed her name was Anne, not that she was playing off of her actual name and hey--it gave photographers a lot of stuff to play off of with the 'shy' thing.) She would attend events, parties, she got invited all sorts of places. Doors were opening up everywhere. Unfortunately, a lot of those doors had some pretty heavy shadows behind them. She found that out really quickly.

Like some photographers didn't like her lines, and she wound up getting pushed to do photoshoots that kept pushing at them. She knew the direction things were headed, and she just flat out didn't want to go there. Porn was very much not her thing and it wasn't ever going to be. And while sure, she could do photographs that were pretty scantily clad, and had implied nudity and sexuality, she didn't actually go showing her bits everywhere. And sure, guys probably had a lot of quiet time with themselves and her images, but that was different. Hell, anyone putting a picture of themselves out there probably had someone having a good time to it. The world was a weird place. But the porn thing...no. She didn't want that. And what was worse, was she didn't like where she was headed, and she learned very, very quickly that people? Did not understand the inherent fantasy that was modeling.

Just because she looked good in interesting outfits and occasionally posed in up close and personal positions with other girls didn't mean she wore that stuff around in her daily life, or that she was ripping off the other model's clothes and screwing them right there after the picture was taken(or, everyone's popular theory, that she nailed every photographer that came by to snap her shot). Just because she was labeled as a 'pin-up' model didn't mean she was into s&m. Hell, it didn't even mean she liked the clothes she was wearing. But people didn't get this. Men especially, she found, would even come up to her on the street and try to touch her, like she was begging for it or something. She started noticing that there was one face she kept seeing over and over, and eventually realized she might have a stalker. While trying to get the police to take her seriously that it's a problem, she's currently trying to get out of the life. It just isn't working out for her right now and she wants to do something else.

Unfortunately, her reputation precedes her, and far too many people recognize her. People occasionally even try to hire her to 'entertain' at their parties. What she wants to do is go into art and photography, like she'd been doing a little off and on since she'd started modeling. Maybe just be an artist, without anything to do with the modeling world. She wanted to go away to college, but her family is actively against that. In fact, they're going so far as to hire her tutors instead, just so she doesn't leave.

There are two faces that show up in Cheyenne's world that don't belong there. Her stalker, and another one, an older man, who also seems to be stalking her. She doesn't quite know what to do about it, and for some reason, her family keeps telling her not to worry about it so much.

World History:

When she was 8 years old, she and her family was in a very bad car accident. Both parents were killed, as well as her two siblings, she was the sole survivor, and she was comatose for a good three months before she even woke back up. Since then, she's tried putting her life back together, she's bounced around to different homes, some relatives, some special needs homes, trying to get her back on par. Physically, she made a more or less full recovery. Mentally was another story. She withdrew completely, to the point where she stopped speaking to people almost entirely. What she did do was write. Incessantly. She's a published author, most people around her just don't know that. She primarily writes teen-geared horror, with an occasional romance novel tossed in. Both sets of books are written under different pen names.

Special Skills and Abilities:

She's good with her camera.

Weaknesses:

What She Doesn't Know: This one is a huge one. It works on a lot of levels, and effects a lot of her life. Cheyenne has repressed memories. Those'll have to come back sometime, and when they do, it's not going to be a good time for anyone. The girl watched her mom burned up. There were bad men that came in and kidnapped them. That tortured people. Including her to some extent. She doesn't know she's got a father out there. Hell, she doesn't know that her hair turned white overnight due to the experience, and that's why her hair's like that. She doesn't know that she could actually be a target again someday. She doesn't know really what the people she grew up with were all about.

Pyrophobia: Fear of fire. While she has no idea why she has it, she does. She won't stand anywhere near open flames, and even fire places make her a little nervous. She doesn't burn candles and generally is distracted when they're lit around her. About all she can handle is birthday cake candles and that's because they're blown out right away(and she can stand at the back of the room and sing happy birthday from there)--and they aren't on her cakes. No way in hell is she leaning towards the hurty-inferno. Even if it is a tiny one. As and addition to this, she occasionally has nightmares that she isn't aware are jumbled messes of her memories of what happened to her mother.

Obsession: She occasionally meets people that she just feels like she knows from somewhere. Because of this, she's got an obsession with taking pictures of those people, and putting them into a specific album. She tries sometimes to see if any of them are connected and how, but so far hasn't really figured anything out. She just knows it's odd, and she has free time to follow up on odd things.

Sheltered: Due to her family's standing in town, the way she was brought up, and everything else, Cheyenne doesn't have a lot of real world experience yet. Her first real tastes of it were with her modeling career and all, but really? She's a girl who grew up in a privelaged household. She thinks she's seen darkness, with the shady photographers, the pushes towards an industry that she wants nothing to do with, and even the creepy feeling she gets when she knows she's being watched, but at the end of the day, she just hasn't had that experience. Definitely not the truth behind her family, or anything even remotely like it. She's really only been shown what her family wants her to see. Which means she hasn't seen the worst parts of town, the incredible poverty, or anything else, not really. She's just now getting out on her 'own' to experience things. She's naive, not stupid, but that doesn't help.

Tethered: Her family has no intention of letting her go. She isn't allowed to head to college, and she's already been picked out to marry a higher up in the family when the time comes. She doesn't know this, but her whole life has been planned out for her, and any 'freedom' she has is an illusion. When that kicks in, it's going to be interesting.

Sexuality Identification Fritzing: It's really men that get her attention physically. And while women can satisfy her just fine and all, she's flat out more physically into men. But with the way things have gone with them, and all of the fantasy vs reality problems she's had with males, she just has problems there. One is that she doesn't trust men as much as women. And while fundamentally she knows that this is wrong, that not all men are built the same, that just because some assholes couldn't hack it doesn't mean that none of them can yadda yadda yadda, that doesn't mean it's not there. She's ashamed of it, and often tries to put in more effort into giving men the benefit of the doubt(which makes her easy to manipulate on the subject) but there's always going to be that little part of her that's waiting for them to screw up. She views herself as a better person than to be so judgmental, especially across the board like that, but it's something that she's going to need to work on for a long time to truly move past--if she'll ever be able to. Of course the other side of this problem is that while she'll try and tell herself day in and day out that a women is right for her, there'll always be that part of her that's more attracted to a guy than any girl she's with. That leaves her with harsh guilty feelings as well, even if sometimes she doesn't even know where it's coming from, just that she feels guilty. It makes her want to compensate in that area as well, which again makes her easy to manipulate in some areas, particularly by any girl she's in a relationship with.

Strengths:

She can read people fairly well, an inherent sort of natural talent. She's also very adaptable to situations, and can think fast on her feet. She's got determination.
