With dark brown eyes, a disarming smile and a head of thick, dark hair that always look like it needs a trim, Jason is a good looking guy. Standing around around 5’11, he could hardly be described as short but the fact he walks with a cane, teamed with a wiry frame means he doesn’t cut an imposing figure, something he quite happy with.

He dresses fairly smartly, in suits when the situation calls for it, but is just as comfortable dressed down, put anything thing on him and he’s going to look good. As a rule, he tends to prefer shirt and vest combinations as fitting his ‘day job’ working for the Echo.

Personality:

Jason is a charming likable guy with a quick mouth and a brain to match. Despite coming from practically nothing, he a generous guy happy to spend his money, mostly on three things in particular; his friends, women and gambling. He lives for the present and doesn’t like to spend time dwelling on either the past or the future and as such doesn’t always think about the consequences of his actions.

Underneath the amiableness however is an iron devotion to those he's close to and any person who does wrong by them is going to see a very ugly side to him. He might be a lover not a fighter but that wouldn’t stop him from going to town on someone who he felt deserved it.

~ women ~ Jason loves women and is completely incapable of not pursuing one who catches his attention. Luckily for him, they love him too. Regardless of age, status or background, he will treat them all like a queen before going in search of the next. He is incapable of forming a long-term relationship but for the brief time he’s with a woman, he will make her his world.

~ cannot keep hold of money ~ He could win the lottery tomorrow and within a month, it would all be gone. Money passes through his hands like water be it spent on women, lost in gambling or given to those who need it more than him but regardless, he is never going to be a wealthy man in his own right.

~ jack of all trades ~ Ever since he was little boy, if Jason puts his mind to something he will be good at it; be it car mechanics, playing guitar or writing for a newspaper. It doesn’t come easily, he has to work to achieve it but he will be successful at it.

City History:

Jason doesn’t know the circumstances of his birth or anything about his parents, his name is the only connection to the life he may have had. Instead his earliest memories are of the orphanage where he grew up and how much he hated it there. He was nine when he finally ran away deciding that the streets couldn’t be any worse than his current situation; he made it almost six months before finally crossing paths with a cop when he was caught stealing food. He span a yarn about a sick mom at home and how they’d spent the last of his dad’s wages on medicine so there was no money until the end of the eek and couldn’t he just bring the money then, he didn’t wanna worry his parent any more by getting into trouble.

The cop and the shopkeeper bought the story to his amazement but the most remarkable thing about that day was the older boy dressed like a grown-up who came up to him afterwards and told him he could use someone like him. From that day, he was a part of Dodge’s gang and earned the nickname ‘Huck’ due to his surname and his talent for talking himself out of trouble.

As they got older, their operations grew and with it Jason’s flair for talking, honed to a fine instrument after years of practice; a skill he would also put to good use when he discovered women. He lost his virginity at the age of fourteen to a girl he met at the boardwalk and he hasn’t looked back since. Since they started pulling cons a few years back things have only gotten better for the crew and with the big con earlier in the year, they’ve been on easy street - even getting shot six months back hasn’t put a dampener on his spirits or diminished his lust for life.

Since splitting from Dodge's gang and becoming his own man as it were, he's struggling to find his place in the world but he's endeavouring to go legit as he settles into a relationship with an old flame of his, Eily O'Malley.

Special Skills and Abilities:

A silver tongue - gift of the gab doesn’t really cover just how good Jason is at talking. Mediating, debating, persuading, he does it all with a charm that works on most people and intelligence that covers the rest.

He also knows his way around a gun, can fix a car engine as well as any mechanic and at a push has been known to play the guitar to impress a lady.

Weaknesses:

~ A sucker for gambling, Jason isn’t addicted to it but finds it hard to resist and he isn’t particular on what form it takes. This wouldn’t be so much of a problem if he wasn’t so bad at it.
~ Jason’s fondness for the ladies hasn’t gone unnoticed and he has developed a reputation as a womaniser. While this isn’t really an issue amongst female social circles, women are always going to be interested, it does make things riskier - particularly in regards to spurned husbands and angry families.
~ He may have the gift of the gab but Jason also has a habit of biting off more than he can chew; it doesn’t matter what the cause but on more than one occasion he’s gotten into a situation that he can’t talk his way out of and either someone has had to bail him out or he’s suffered the consequences. Case in point...
~ Six months ago he got involved with a young woman called Eily O’Malley. They wined and dined, he wooed, a marvelous time was had by them both. That was until he got a visit from one of her brothers who objected to the company she was keeping and issued a warning to him to stay away by putting a bullet in his left knee and was told in no uncertain terms that if he even approached her again, the next bullet was going between his eyes. Even though the O’Malley clan has since been apparently wiped out and no longer being a threat to him, there is no repairing the damage that was done. Now with a sever and pronounced limp, he has to use a cane to move more than a couple of feet and the injury still causes him pain, particularly when when the weather is cold or damp.
