Character Profile
Name: Patrick "Bull" O'Malley
Age: 37
Gender: male
Type: Select One
Appearance:
Patrick is an imposing sort of man. He's tall, has a strong, solid physique, some prominent scars and a lot of tattoos. He's definitely the type that you can tell by looking at the man that he's no stranger to violence, and he knows how to handle himself efficiently. He's got short dark hair and dark brown eyes. Normally he dresses in dark colors, and clothing that's easy to fight in. The man isn't shining up too bright on any given occasion.
Personality:
The man's nickname is 'Bull' for a reason. That's because he's big, strong, and if you piss him off you don't want to be in his path. He's not got a temperament that could ever be described as even. And while he can be jovial and generous when he wants to be, at the drop of a hat he can turn violent and very dangerous. He's unpredictable most of the time, and is believed to be at least a little mad. (not that anyone who appreciates continuing life would ever say that to him)
Sexuality:
very very heterosexual. saying otherwise may result in a broken jaw or worse.
City History:
The oldest of the O'Malley boys, Patrick was a kid who had a lot of hopes pinned on him...and who disappointed fairly early in life. It was pretty clear early on that he was just not the sharpest tool in the shed. He wasn't ever going to live up to the standards of taking over the family's 'business' or anything when he grew up. So, other types of drives were cultivated instead. Education was given up entirely when he nearly beat another student to death when he was fifteen. That boy was never right again, and it was rumored that he had eventually been brought to Bedlam to be cared for, because he wasn't capable of caring for himself. That little problem went away with Patrick being pulled from school by his father, and a few favors were cashed in that meant he wasn't ever given anything but a slap on the wrist.
That kid wasn't the first that Patrick had beaten up. It was just the most public. He also wasn't the last. At this point in his life, Patrick isn't even sure how many people he's beaten to a pulp. He's not sure how many of them died. It doesn't matter to him, in his opinion? They had it coming. Either for something they said to him, about his family, or fill in the blank--Patrick can come up with a justification for anything, and even if it's pathetically thin as far as excuses go, they're valid enough for him.
Really, for Patrick, after that there haven't been any huge milestones in his life. It's been one long blur of drinking, rage blackouts, random women, and occasional jobs that needed the muscle.
Special Skills and Abilities:
He can drink most people under the table, and he knows how to take a man apart in no time flat.
Weaknesses:
He's the oldest...but he's not in charge. He's not now, and really he's never going to be, even when the old man kicks off. No, he just doesn't have the head for it, and he and everyone else knows it. It's a manipulation point that's fairly easy to employ, and if you're trying to get him to fly off the handle, that's the fastest way to do it. Not only that but while Patrick is under the illusion he's in control of things? He isn't. What Patrick is is a wrecking ball that other people swing. That his family just points in the right direction and they let him go.
Anger management issues is a mild way of putting it. The man flips out. He has blackouts when he flies into a strong enough rage. He doesn't have any kind of real rationality when he gets angry, which is an incredibly easy thing for him to slip into. He's touchy. He's overly sensitive on a lot of topics, and is just flat out bad at calming himself down. He's the kind of guy who will stew on a tiny, perceived slight until he works himself up enough to start a fight about it twenty minutes later.
Not the brightest crayon in the box...yeah, Patrick just isn't a smart guy. He's good at what he does, he's a great weapon to sort of direct and let loose, but he isn't a thinking sort of man. He's not pondering the great mysteries of the universe. He likes to fight, he likes to drink and he likes his women.
To get Freudian here, Patrick is very id-centric. The man is all about self gratification. He wants what he wants, figures he's more than entitled to it, and he wants it right the hell now. It makes him an extremely selfish person, He's only generous if it's convenient for him, and at any point that generosity can be taken back and then some.
Extremely homophobic. Nothing gets his back up like 'the queers'. This extends not just with men, but to women as well. He's a bastard of a womanizer as well. He doesn't have respect for near anyone in the entire world, but anyone outside Catholic standards are lower than shit to him, and women are definitely second class citizens in his eyes. He's never had even someone who would be considered a girlfriend.
Strengths:
Absolutely no one wants to get into a physical fight with this guy. And if you want a verbal argument to not turn into one immediately, do it over the damn phone. Then hide for a week while he finds other people to take it out on.
Family or Connections:
Anyone connected to the O'Malleys. Four brothers, two sisters. A whole bunch of cousins.
Residence:
A communal apartment building set up by his family, where members of the Konovich Syndicate all sort of come and go from whenever.
Career:
Intimidating Prick
PB: to be chosen!
