Appearance:

Calix stands at 5'10". He weighs in at about 105LBs, if that. From head to toe, his hair is red in color and medium cut in length and is eyes are a light crystal blue. He has a very sharp and bony facial structure, likely because he is severely underweight. Sharp high cheekbones contrast his face. Pale, almost white, skin and thin lips. A nice slim neck connects to soft narrow shoulders with a jarring collarbone and shoulder blades. his ribs are, you guessed it, very visible. A tiny waist and rigid hip bones. For a male, Calix has a very feminine body structure as he more resembles an hour glass than an upside down triangle. Long fingers connect to equally long arms. A good portion of meat left on him is in his thighs which are trim but not chickeny. Even in his skeletal state, he manages to carry good grace and remain quite attractive looking even in the worst of times.

Personality:

Like most interesting people, there are many layers to Calix. The first thing you might notice when you meet him is the power of his aura. He has a very strong pull to his personality. You know those people who's moods just seem to be infectious? He's one of them. Noticing this is guaranteed beyond anything else. It's very hard to not.

He is, most often, freedom loving and creatively genius. He's a little bit of a rebel with a wild sense of style and imagination, spontaneous wouldn't be far fetched in describing him and neither would fickle and fleeting. He can be a little aloof - sometimes leaves you to wonder where his mind is at. However, he is quite articulate, very intellectually sharp, and enjoys exploring and understanding things - people, concepts and theory and various other subjects. His world and life revolves around the arts, mainly performing, and he has a way with finding art and beauty in everything.

Calix has a very strong sense of hope and belief, but at the same time, if you're paying attention, there's something somber about it. There's a lot more to him than you might first believe. He's witty, flirtatious, and overall a very kind person albeit sarcastic sometimes. Being an actor of sorts gives him the gift of being an incredibly good liar to the point that even he buys in to them himself without even knowing. A chameleon, he is - always capable of changing mood and habits to suit needs, wants, and demands if he so choses. He has a habit of getting so intensely absorbed in to an idea, a thought, a role, that he can't get out of it until another one takes it's place. Though he's very capable of consciously lying and manipulating as well.

Calix also has a darker side to go with his happy and freedom loving side. No one is 2D, after all. He can be quite bitter, can be quite vain, and can be quite cruel and cynical - rare as it might be unless you know him very well. He can be hateful to himself and to others (though more often to himself) - especially in times of 'need'. He can be very depressing due to his past and some of his 'habits', almost suffocatingly so - especially if you happen to catch on to his aura. He can be distant and hallow. There's something hollow and fake in his eyes if you can see through his act and delusion. Angering him is not the best of idea's. He's not strong in fist fights, but he tends to be really good at wielding wine bottles, bar stools, and high heels.

Lastly, and perhaps one of the most impacting things about his personality is his addiction as that, like all addictions, is the gravitational pull for his sometimes unstable emotions, mind frame, and all the darker secrets and habits that come with being hooked on something. Although he's quiet as can be about it, it's bound to turn up if you're watching. The signs are there already in face value.

Creativity and artistic expression - to the point that he's often living an illusion of his own, and has a way of ensnaring others inside of it too without even trying. Everything he does is an artistic expression in some way or another, even if he's sitting in the most decrepit of area's. Somehow he always looks picturesque, and the words he speaks have some deep meaning even if it's a simple hello. He finds inspiration in the strangest area's, breaks out in to musical repertoire in the weirdest locations, paints murals on the most unexpected objects, and so on. It's as if he really is living, breathing art. From the way he moves, to how he talks, to how he dresses. He'll even make art out of leftovers and tableware.

Influence through expression - this ties in to his artistic ability above. Just through the extensive passion he has for art and expression he not only ensnares people in to his 'illusion' but sways their emotions and sometimes thoughts as well through his expressions, performances, and so on. Normally Calix is a very inspiring and uplifting person and so he uses this to bring up the spirits of many struggling people in the lower class areas. Not only can he use it for lifting spirits, but frequently for opening minds and causing controversy. Like many artists, he likes to push boundaries - say things no one else will, do things no one else will. It can also influence something a little more carnal as Calix is certainly not much of a prude with his usual quite flamboyant and strange and often very sexually exploitive dress, one could say he's a little intoxicating sometimes. He often collects people this way through this ability alone, loves many if not all he comes across, sees beauty in those that have nothing or see nothing, and gives them hope. As you can imagine though, not even the happiest of spirits can be infallible, and with his faults he can sometime sink and with his sinking all of his 'children' fall with him.

Passion - THE thing that an artist requires - passion. Calix is an extremely passionate person and it shows, and only serves to enhance his artistic expression and influence on people. Not only does he have a passion for his art, he also has a passion for people. He's fairly polyamorous, but when he says that he loves everyone of 'his people', he really means it. He gives inconsiderable amounts of love and devotion to all those he comes across and inevitably ends up 'collecting'. He finds them shelter and work and pampers them half to death. He would do anything for these people because he needs them as much as they end up needing him.

City History:

An only child, Calix has been involved in the art scene ever since he was young. His family was a long list of artistic genius and protégées, he knew nothing else from the very start. When Calix was just three, his mother had him in various modeling magazines and television ads for young children wear. He started taking a liking to 'playing pretend' when he was nearing five years old which was what brought him in to the acting field. From there, it was him singing back stage that opened the gate to singing career, and he continued to grow through the years at a most rapid rate. His mother, Glacemia, and his father ( a producer ), Hiddon, built exceedingly high expectations of him very quickly. Luckily, he topped them all. However not everything was sunshine and daisies, of course. With the fame came competition, tabloids, rumors, corruption and danger. A young and open mind was easy to manipulate.

He was home-schooled because of his status as a young star which made him vary naive to the outside world, and his parents made sure he remained that way while they went about their 'business'. It made him a very snooty young thing, and it also made him very friendless and lonely. He had an extremely limited insight as to what friends were. Everyone was just a connection to something or someone else. That all ended when he was out with his parents one night after a 'friends' opening show. Walking back to their vehicle, both his mother and father were beaten down and shot repetitively. Dead immediately, of course. He, only ten years of age, could so nothing but stare. After the gunning, he was dragged back home with one of the murderers and held there for almost a year until police had found him.

Within those months he was introduced to many situations and 'truths' of the world and his parents and family. Drug addicts, thieves, manipulators, bargainers, they were in deep. They had it coming. Stuck with sick minded men and the duty to please them in various ways, his angel face presence that floated around in sweet children plays soon had a new flavor to bring to the plate. Here was where he had his first dance with drugs and alcohol, his first dance with death, and lost his virginity. Many nights was he left to fend for himself, forced in to 'performing' for people, and pressured in to substances. Though the people he saw there, the lives he saw there in that world, that horrible despair and corruption, changed his life almost more than his experiences.

When he was found, he was quite a mess. The butler within the Light estate, Miual, offered to take care of him. Cleaning up a little in act and presence, cleaning up his status and the tabloid rumor mills, Calix came back in to the light. Though he was never the same. His artistic influences were altered drastically and he quickly took to the obscure, the sexual, the flamboyant and strange and sometimes even dark and twisted side of art and performance. Quickly began touching base on subjects and material both light and dark, emotional, painful, controversial, and inspiring.

Which bought him a huge reputation, and a very split crowd of lovers and haters.

Soon enough he got to the rebellious teenage years and often slipped out. Lost himself in trouble, booze and other various delights. For one reason or another he couldn't help finding his way back to that area, that disgusting lowly place filled with disease and hopelessness. He found beautiful people there, and soon began his collection of them. Many people gained hope, home, love, and meaning from him year after year through his strange fascination with that side of life. To this day he still goes down there, down to the dirtiest pub with the lowest of hearts and brings home the most wonderful people.

Special Skills and Abilities:

As suggested, Calix is the embodiment of an artist. Therefore, his artistic skills are exceptional. He has an incredible singing voice. He's an (almost) flawless actor and has an amazing stage presence. While those are his specialties when he get in to the more professional side of things, he also is a very talented painter, conceptual artist, photographer, make-up artist, and much more, just at merely a lower level than his performing expertise.

Weaknesses:

- Calix has an abnormally low body temperature which makes the weather of the city a bit of a heavy hitter and his heating bill so high. Getting caught in the rain on somedays can be near a death-trap to him. Somedays it's worse than others, as well. Sometimes he'll just feel weak and tired when it's rainy, it all depends. It's a strange occurrence that doesn't have much rhyme or reason but it's there.

- Calix is an addict. A very heavy addict. Heroin is his main drugs of choice and might also explain a lot of his spaciness, his disgustingly thin figure, his shake he sometimes has in his hands, and could even explain the low body temperature. It also explains his quick changing emotions, disappearances, no-shows, and various other personality flaws. Alcohol is also included in this addiction.

- Post Trauma - might explain various things such as his drug addiction. Sometimes he blanks out, or detaches from reality completely. With how empathetic he seems to be and honestly often is, he is ridiculously calm around death and torture of any kind. He'll understand the victim, he'll have compassion for them, he'll help them if he can, but there's never much sign of panic. Though he might feel panic inside, he might feel a lot of panic, he doesn't often show it and depending on what he's witnessing he might not even know that he is actually panicking until far later. There's something eerie and not quite right about his responses to abuse and death and other various dangers.

- Perfectionism gone wrong: Calix. He adheres to the, 'artist who went too far'. Lost in his own need for perfection with both his art and his body, you could say with how little he eats and how much he shoots up, he's gone far beyond the limits of healthy and stable. No, he'll be that burnt out artist throwing whiskey glasses and having a breakdown at 3AM in some dirty old pub only to drag himself home well into the higher class area and curl up with a loved on to fall asleep. He's that man never satisfied with how he looks, how he acts, how his art is. Incapable of achieving what he wants to fully achieve.

- Calix has an undying curiosity for things, mainly people, and in mixture with his flirtatious and playful manner it can be a dangerous thing sometimes, for him more than for others half the time. Though sometimes he just wont care.

- Dependency is a huge pitfall of him. Obviously that goes hand in hand with addiction but he also has a dependency on something other than chemical drugs, and that is people. Sometimes its easy to question whether he would have anything or be anything if you took all of 'his people' away. If you locked him up with no one he would absolutely lose it and break. He need people, even if they are just there. Calix isn't a complete cling on, not at all, but he needs to be surrounded by the energy that people give off.

Strengths:

Calix is pretty sharp and quick to pick up on hints and suggestions around him. It gives him an ability to adapt to situations which comes in particularly good when he's in trouble which happens a lot more than one might expect upon their first impression of him. He's also an exceptional actor which makes those sticky situations a little smoother too. He has a strong will, even if he's full of vice. That will power is what keeps him doing what he does, gun wound after hate crime after overdose. Lastly, Calix has a unique sort of charm about him. His constant smile and mischievous bright eyes just add to his ways, so to speak. Adds to his flair and his lure.

Family or Connections:

Various family members come and go sometimes but don't keep much in touch. As for 'family' he has a multitude of lovers that stay with him, some closer than others, I'll name just a few.

Miranda Rhine - the first woman he fell in love with. He found her in a back alley passed out from an overdose on morphine and beaten down. She has since then become his costar in many live stage plays and is possible the closest person to him next to Liam.

Liam Weldley, a mid aged man found in a broken down bar in the lower end of town. He was once a fashion designer and make-up artist but lost everything due to his drinking habits. Calix took him in, and Liam has since then become Calix's assistant. Calix is almost never seen without Liam by his side or very near by unless Liam is working on a specific project. All the same, these two are extremely close.

Jayden Bailey, a young boy found sleeping on the doorstep of a crack house. He's the newest addition to Calix's family and also the youngest. Jayden is still simply enjoying the company and getting an feel for the surroundings.

Sarah Gideenia, a hairstylist he picked up years ago at a brothel.
Heart Joans, a woman who used to play guitar on the streets to get money for liquor. Has since become his main guitarist for music shows.
Addison Markman, a heroin dealer who is Calix's main supplier but also has a taste for art, often helping him with gallery projects.
Yasmine Jiias, a dancer who used to put on private exotic dancing shows but is now one of the top adult entertainment dancers since meeting Calix.
Kethandra Jade, a fashion designer who lost everything due to gambling, now helps Liam with costume designing.
Quish McQuire, once a heavy alcoholic, is now an actor and dancer who often shows up in Calix's larger performances.
