Character Profile

Name: Gethsemane Eloise Lefevre

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Type: Dreamer

Appearance:

On first appearance Geth does not seem to be any older than a child. Her small stature (only reaching 4’11” with thick soles) and slender figure have been a curse to her for the past twenty four years. With skinny arms and legs and protruding bones Geth looks like a pre-teen put on a crash diet. Geth has tiny, barely-there curves that she does very little to enhance.

Geth has a very fair complexion, with freckles generously splattered across her face. Her skin is so white that at certain points on her body it appears almost translucent and blue. As Geth did not inherit her mother’s tanned skin any sun exposure for longer than an hour begins to irritate her skin and causes her cheeks to redden painfully. She is prone to painful sun poisoning in the most vicious days of summer and is very rarely seen without a hat or out of the shade.

The only thing that makes Gethsemane stand out from a slew of school children is her posture. Having developed a bit of a complex on account of her size Geth likes to make sure everyone understands that she is not lacking anywhere else. Geth walks fast and with an apparent purpose at all times, not being a fan of the absent stroll. Her back is always straight and her nose in the air.

Geth has a tendency to look down her small, snub nose at people, even if they are taller than her. The softness of her features is blatantly swallowed by a constant look of dissatisfaction. Framed by full, soft lashes, Geth’s eyes are grey, though tend to look blue in most lights. Large and expressive, they add a youthful innocence to her face. More often than not, Geth has deep circles under her eyes and a habitual squint. An arched brow can often be seen adorning her face, raised in feigned interest. She adopts a sense of practicality to her hairstyles, preferring to keep her golden-red locks long and smooth, taming the slight curl into a sleek bun or parting it to the side with a headband. It is very rare to find the even style in her face. Geth does not like the feeling of hairs on the back of her neck and it is common to see her continually fixing her buns or in high-collared shirts when her hair is worn loose.

Geth has a small heart-shaped face with a narrow chin and a wide forehead. Her lips are full and pouty, made for smiling and flirting but are usually set in a narrow line accenting her permanent annoyance.

Disliking makeup, more because she does not know how to apply it than anything else, Geth never wears more than lip balm. Because of this, after particularly rough nights Geth tends to look like the walking dead.
Geth does not mess around with fashion. She prefers dresses to pants, solids to prints and dark black and grays to pastels.

Personality:

Geth is very quick to make up her mind and stick to it, being quite vocal about her opinions. She does not believe in platonic relationships, for there is constant power struggle. She doesn’t believe in waiting for things to happen and loathes those who don’t seize opportunities. In fact, mostly Geth is quick to decide that humanity is completely useless. She is a pessimist when it comes to human nature and has long decided to give up hope on society. Her opinion stands that there is no more real class and dignity left in modern society, that there is not enough room for art and growth. Though some may find her theory intensely morbid Geth claims that humanity will never be satisfied unless they are searching for something they cannot have.

Geth is a social elitist, and in her mind anyone that is not a benefit to her in the long run is probably not worth talking to for a short period of time. Believing herself to be a person of high standards, Geth does not make time for anyone that has nothing to offer. She is selfish and greedy, often taking things without any offers back. She does not give herself to people easily, nor does she get attached.

Geth is a Social Darwinist, by self-definition. She does not believe in equal chances or a helping hand. Her theory on life revolves around survival of the fittest. If you were born into the world and were meant to make it, you would. With this opinion she leaves people very little room for failure or improvement. She is quick to judge most and does not deal well with things she deems are stupid decisions. In such cases, she will pretty much deem any decision she would not make as something completely idiotic.

With a short temper and a low tolerance for most things Geth is quick to defend herself in situations. She will not hesitate to draw a gun to someone’s head if they do something she doesn’t approve of. Preferring things neat and tidy, Geth grows furious when her perfect little world is messed up. She does not like to repeat things or have her plans fall through.

Though Geth would like to claim she is an intellectual, she is not nearly as smart as she would like to be. Most things do not come to Geth naturally but instead with great study and care. This is something that will always bother her, as she thinks of this as a handicap. She is embarrassed by her lack of natural skills and nearly terrified of learning new and advanced things. Because of this, Geth will often stay up numerous nights in a row until she deems herself proficient at whatever new assignment she has given herself: be it learning to pick a lock, to throw a punch or even to keep a straight face.

Along with her inability to grasp new concepts Geth also does not deal well with change. She resists anything that takes her out of her comfort zone and is constantly finding ways to get out of doing things she does not want to. Geth is not manipulative as much as she is commanding. Instead of slyly trying to get her way, she demands things. Geth likes to think she is an adult. She does not like to be babied or pampered. Help is denied if it is ever given and Geth would rather soldier on with a struggle than feel as though she is being pitied. In truth, Geth tends to be a big baby when she does not get her way.

Geth likes puzzles and books. Things of a practical nature appeal to her most because they are a skill she does not have to show off. In her free time Geth indulges in crossword puzzles and literature, something she does not consider any great skill and does not feel self-conscious while doing. Everyone can read. Everyone can write. These things are not a competition. Geth enjoys being recognized for doing something special, and feels even better if there is a reward involved. She will subtly and subconsciously flaunt it. Mostly, Geth likes finding things to dislike. The act gives her a feeling of superiority. If someone claims to enjoy something she will make sure to hate it and find proof that this ‘something’ is truly stupid.

Sexuality:

Heterosexual

City History:

By the time Gethsemane was born, her father had already sold himself to the mob. In an attempt to make himself and his wife rich, Fabian Lefevre took over the patisserie his father had opened upon moving from France and converted it into a dealer’s haven. Crepes took a backseat to heroin and tea was replaced with heroin. What was thought to be a small move to gain a few extra dollars wound up taking over the lives of the Lefevre family.
By the time Gethsemane was born the bakery had closed down and the family had relocated to a spacious home near the docks. Slightly further from the inner city, the location was much more dangerous, but ideal for doing business.
Geth’s earliest memories involve suits and gunshots.
There was always plenty of money. She grew up watching it exchange hands as pistols lay casually on the table between her father and whoever was there to collect this month. Growing up, Geth was spoiled and pampered, growing to idolize the sharks that collected monthly as beloved uncles. While her father scrambled to come up with cash and numbers scribbled in little black books Geth entertained the mob with dolls and tea parties. As she got older, Geth was permitted in the living room less frequently. By the time she reached her teens she was not allowed to go down to the first floor without asking permission first.
It was not until she was thirteen that Geth witnessed the first signs of her family’s distress. It was the first time that her father had come up short. His numbers were off, and though Fabian claimed that it was a mistake, that he had just miscounted, that they should come back in a few days and he would have more money. No one wanted to listen. It was by accident the Geth found herself by the front door that day. She watched as men in suits pinned her mother against a wall and held a gun to her head, held her breath as they pushed their hands against her mother’s throat.
They money was taken from their personal savings, and Geth could recall not having dessert for a good three months.
By the time she was eighteen, Gethsemane had turned a blind eye towards what went on in her house. She ignored her father’s runners as they handed her envelopes of money, and she no longer flinched at the sight of their bruised eyes and secondhand guns. She did not, however, anticipate the death of her mother.
They told her it was a heart attack, but Geth knew it was a gunshot. She noticed that the couch had been replaced, she noticed that the coffee table had been moved. She was clever enough to catch on. The loss hit Geth hard, and instead of mourning properly the girl threw herself in her mother’s place instead. Now assisting her father in his business Geth found herself acting book-keeper for one of Eidolon City’s biggest drug lords.
After two years Geth tried to break away from the business and got a job bartending and waitressing at the Kitten Club, a job she absolutely hated but would have to deal with in the meantime. While the act worked for a short while, the sudden disappearance of her father threw Geth right back into the life she had just managed to escape. Suddenly she found herself dealing with more criminals than she was used to. Currently, Gethesmane tries to keep her drug business undercover, going by a different name and keeping up with her hours at the Kitten Club. She is currently looking into her father’s disappearance.

Special Skills and Abilities:

Geth is quite good at solving riddles and puzzles. She is also quite a fast runner.

Weaknesses:

Apathy: Frankly, my dear, Geth just doesn’t give a damn.
If it doesn’t concern her, Gethsemane can not be bothered. To get Geth excited bout something is almost as hard as establishing world peace. She does not make emotional attachments easy as her day to day existence is almost prime animal nature. Her first priority is always going to be herself. This is not to say, however, that Geth is selfish-- she simply sees no concern that is more immediate. Practically existential in practice, Geth does not like to think of consequences, possibilities or what-ifs. Her main concerns are the present and what she feels like doing at that very moment. Because of this, Geth finds it increasingly impossible to make connections. Not that it really affects her too much.
Intolerant: Geth does not like to waste time. She gets annoyed fast and intensely, rarely bothering to hide her irritation. A glare and a cocked eyebrow is often followed by an abrupt end to a conversation. Geth has walked away mid-sentence more than once before.
Small stature: Geth is a tiny girl. This becomes quite an issue as patrons at the Kitten Club get more an more drunk. There tends to be near weekly occasions where she gets grabbed and tossed around by a patron that had a bit too much too drink. When going home from work Geth is forced to move fast and look around constantly. Most of the time, the girl carries some sort of weapon.
Lonely: Though Gethsemane would never admit it, she has always been plagued by loneliness. She has never had anyone she is truly close to, and though she does not ever go seeking warmth or affection, Geth is completely vulnerable in situations where it is offered. She does not fall in love fast, nor does she give love back in return: she simply has trouble letting people go once she does open up.
Snobbish: Geth has managed to convince herself that she is infinitely smarter than everyone around her. Clearly, everyone is an idiot. She knows best. In a way, she is almost a spoiled brat, with the occasional tendency to throw a temper tantrum when she doesn’t get her way.

Strengths:

Logical: Geth is sure to get what she wants from most people. A careful balance of self-confidence and self-awareness prevents Geth from making silly decisions or doubting the ones she has made. Geth is naturally wary and does not jump head first into things she does not feel comfortable with. She is good at testing the water before she drowns

Geth has a natural knack for organization. She is great at picking out things that don’t fit somewhere quite right and easily finding places for them. She has a great memory, and though does not have the ability to pick things up from the first attempt she believes in repetition.
Self-Aware: Geth is very well aware of herself. Though she will never admit to being wrong, she always knows when she is. She also knows her boundaries and capabilities well enough to stay safe and in good standing.

The Konovich Syndicate

Residence:

A large brownstone by the warehouse district. Originally the location of her father’s business operations. Now a location Geth would love to move out of.
