Rosaline is a very beautiful woman. Her Spanish roots are quite clear in her appearance, something that she accentuates as much as possible. She's got long hair that falls past her shoulders in waves, dark chocolate brown eyes, and full lips. Generally speaking, Rosaline has curves, and she wears clothing that brings attention to them. Her favorite color is red, and most often, she can be seen wearing that. It dominates the decor she keeps around her, and of course, her personal symbol is a rose.

Personality:

Rosaline is a woman who knows what you want. She's an incredibly good judge of things, and a quick study. Therefore...she's just the woman you're looking for. She's the woman everyone is looking for. She can adapt to just about any situation, pulling out a persona that will fit with the needs of whoever is in her company. She's a chameleon.

As for who she is underneath that? It's difficult to say anymore. She's been playing parts her entire life, so there's little left intact of a personality that isn't specifically tailored to a situation. Rosaline is always acting in some manner, always playing to some audience. Perhaps she acts so often because deep down, she really doesn't know who she is anymore. She lost track of herself years ago.

City History:

Rosaline was born in Mexico City, Mexico, however moved to Eidolon City before she was three years old. She only has one fuzzy memory of the country, and that was a church filled with candles, her dead grandmother laid out in front of the alter. Beyond that, her life was overtaken by the city. Her family was hired illegally by the Giacomo family, for low wages and for forged documents, particularly concentrating on young Rosaline. As far as the government is concerned now, Rosaline was born in Eidolon City.

As she grew up, she was provided for. The Giacomo family tended to cater to her, but treat the rest of her family like they were less than human. She was aware at a fairly young age that her mother and older sister were made of 'use' to the teenage sons of the family. They tried this on with her when she got a little older as well. That was when Rosaline really discovered just how she could use her sexuality to twist people around. She played it all well, played it so sweet as pie, but really, she was manipulating the boys. Turning them against each other, subtly arranging the situation so she could exact her own brand of vengeance. Rosaline doesn't suffer things well. She suffers them then later slides the knife in softly and twists it as hard as she can.

In the case of the Giacomo boys, she got them to kill one another. It was a con that took her nearly a year to cultivate, but she did it. Rosaline has patience for her cons. Not for much else, but for cons? She's got worlds of it. The battle between them happened in the house, and ended with them both shot and while neither died outright, neither survived longer than a few days. It was long, drawn out, agonizing deaths for them, and Rosaline was a very satisfied girl. The Giacomo family had to start their family line over, and while Mrs. Giacomo suspected, she couldn't really convince others that she had a hand in it.

Either way, she knew it was her time to get out. And while her family chose to stay with them, Rosaline had other ideas. So she left. She started working at a diner, but quickly realized that it didn't pay the bills. Really, there was only one thing that did. And since she'd already learned how to twist things around, that's exactly what she did. Eventually, when Babylon opened, she got in there, as one of the very first girls who got a room.

It was an interesting endevor. And, even if she'd been slightly skeptical at first, she watched Eris grow it up from the ground, and establish it. In fact, she got it so well established, that things got to be the cushiest they'd ever been in Rosaline's life, including when the Giacomo's catered to her. What she couldn't really abide by was the fact that this little girl, that she'd gone and done all of this. And it looked to Rosaline that it was easy for her. As the years went by, she got steadily more bitter about it, and while she got herself into a position of being second in command, it wasn't good enough. She wanted the whole thing. Plus, Eris kept insisting that the place remain neutral territory. And that was something that Rosaline couldn't see the wisdom of. Especially not with both crime families interested in the place. They both did their business from time to time under her roof, but it was only a matter of time, wasn't it?

Rosaline thought so. So she started taking steps to change things. It started with getting in with the O'Malleys. That was a lot less difficult than she thought it should be. She started spinning tales of Eris and possible connections being made with the DiGiovanni family. Anything she could possibly spin on things she did, and Eris was always a tight lipped type. It wasn't like her lifestyle didn't lend itself to talking behind her back. She never did anything that went against what she was saying, after all. Eventually, she planted the idea in people's minds that she needed to be taken down, and now. And so...it happened. She distracted Eris' bodyguard as per her agreement with the O'Malleys, and they came in and took care of business, putting her in charge, and in return she affiliated with them. It all worked out perfectly, save for the fact that her corpse wasn't found. While she's sure (and been assured over and again) that Eris is in fact dead...it's a little nagging voice in the back of her mind she can't quite shut up. It's a loose end, and she hates loose ends.

Loose end aside, Rosaline has other problems. When Eris was taken out, she had been under the impression that she was going to step in and just take it over, and things wouldn't change a whole lot. That isn't the case at all. Frankly, it frustrates the living hell out of Rosaline, because she doesn't know how Eris pulled what she did for so long. She doesn't know how to do it herself though either, that much is very clear. Babylon, in the time it's been since Eris got disappeared, has changed one hell of a lot. She doesn't feel like she's even truly in charge, which she'd always felt Eris was. No, she answers to the O'Malley's, and that is extending out further as well. It's not just them. It's everyone in the Konovich syndicate. She's losing control, and it happened so quickly. Little concessions here and there have turned into bigger ones. Hell, Eris had extremely strict policies about what did and did not go on under her roof, and most of them have been broken. Even her cardinal rule--that nothing going on in Babylon is anything but fully consensual. Rosaline really feels like they did that just to prove a point, to show her that she was not the one in charge. It was a business, and now it's feeling more and more every day like a harem.

Special Skills and Abilities:

Languages - Rosaline speaks English and Spanish fluently, and is passable with Italian. She's also a very skilled actress and is good at her chosen career as well.

Weaknesses:

Rosaline has one hell of a wicked vengeful streak. So far, it hasn't gotten her into that much trouble, but it most certainly can one day. For instance, Mrs. Giacomo never did give up the idea that Rosaline was responsible for the deaths of her boys. Just because she's an old lady doesn't mean she can't figure some way of eventually getting her revenge on the girl, and that's DiGiovanni territory. They could eventually take very special interest in the new madame of Babylon if for no other reason than that suspicion. Furthermore, when Rosaline gets on a vengeance kick, she also tends to not think about the wider spread impact of things. She wants what she wants, and that's what she means to get. For instance, a lot of her ambition to take over Babylon was she had a heated jealous streak towards Eris, and that's how it manifested itself. She wasn't really thinking about what came after, the reality of the situation. Now she's forced to deal with a whole world of shit she hadn't seen coming.

The O'Malleys - Rosaline got what she wanted. What she didn't consider when she took Eris out of the equation and affiliated with the O'Malleys was that they were going to have a much bigger hand in things than she intended. She'd envisioned herself as merely taking over what Eris had been doing, and they would keep the DiGiovanni's out. What happened was Babylon is not the same place it was when Eris was around. It's gone downhill in a sharp curve, and Rosaline is trying to uphold some of the standards, but at the end of the day? She's in the O'Malleys pocket, and she's starting to be in the rest of their little clan's too. She absolutely hates it, but doesn't have the means to push them out. If she goes back on things, she's going to wind up like her predecessor.

While Rosaline is a girl who is great at dealing with a given situation when she's in it, she isn't the best forward planner in the world. Even if she's got the patience to do a long con, and can see the way to get it done, it's the after effects she can't see, or even what's happening in the meantime that slip past her perceptions.

Fixation - Rosaline tends to fixate. If something's bothering her for too long, if she's unhappy with something, if there's a perceived slight happening that she can't ignore, such as with her mother and sister, she just cannot let it go. Even if she tries, it's like a needle beneath her skin, she has to prod at it and keep trying to rip it out. When she's fixating, often times one hell of a lot will go unnoticed around her, even if it's screamingly obvious to everyone else.

Strengths:

Rosaline knows how to read people very well, and very quickly. She's a smart woman, and can think on her feet. Dealing with immediate situations is her forte. If she's in the middle of shit, she can deal with it very well.
