- Appearance
Louise is rather petite, only about 5'1 and 105 lbs, but she still manages to stand out in a crowd. She is heavily tattooed and pierced, and her short dark hair is one of the few things about herself that she doesn’t take too much care of. It’s always a bit unruly, no matter how much or how little effort she puts into it. Her dark eyes sparkle from behind her black-rimmed glasses, and her pale skin makes her colorful tattoos stand out more. Her right hand is permanently bent into a slight fist due to a birth defect. She dresses very casually, and rarely wears shoes, even at work. If it was completely up to her, she wouldn’t wear anything, ever, and never wears clothes in her apartment.
- Personality
Louise is a bundle of almost nervous energy. She's been accused numerous times of being mentally ill or on drugs, despite the fact that she lives a very clean lifestyle: no drugs (including caffeine and nicotine), no alcohol, and no sex outside marriage. It's not that she has a problem with any of those things, she's just made a decision that they're not for her. Her hyperactive persona isn't helped by her Tourette syndrome, with her tics constantly making her blink more than usual, or twitch, or snap her fingers, or quickly move her head to the left and back. She's the type to make lemonade out of lemons, which is good considering the hand life dealt her, no pun intended. She's an extremely friendly and loving person, although life has taught her to be careful who she opens up fully to. She is moderately OCD and everything has to be in its place or she'll stop down and fix it until it's right.
- History
Louise was born to a drug and alcohol-addicted mother and an unknown father. She was actually one of several pregnancies her mother had, but was the only one that went to term, either by natural causes or *gasp* abortion. With her mother constantly in bad shape and eventually committed to Bedlam Asylum, she had to learn how to take care of herself, despite her own handicaps. Public schools weren’t sure how to handle a child like her, who made strange noises and said things she shouldn’t, so she was sent off to a boarding school, which she loathed. At the age of 12, she snuck out of the school, never to return, and began learning on the streets.
It wasn’t an easy life for her, but somehow Louise made it work for her, taking whatever jobs she was allowed to. At age 15, she was taken in by a kindly old Romany woman who was much more of a mother to her than her “real” mother had ever been. She put a roof over her head, taught her things she should’ve learned in school, introduced her to the art of tattooing, which she quickly became addicted to, helped her learn valuable job skills, and most importantly, accepted her for who she was, despite the outward appearances. When the old woman died, Louise was able to make it on her own.
It’s still been rough, though. With her tics and her… unique outlook on life, she was often accused of using drugs or being mentally ill, and has had to fight every step of the way to prove herself to people. She still floats from job to job, but has managed to hold on to her current position, a dish washer at One More Round for quite a while now. She is very frugal for the most part and always has enough of a nest egg to keep a roof over her head and food on her table, as well as a bit more for her hobbies: body modifications, poetry, and art.
- Special Abilities and Skills
Louise is a decent poet and artist- many of her tattoos are her own design or her own words. In addition to her native language, English, she also has a fairly good grasp on the Romany language. She’s also a decent cook. She is a synesthete, and rather than just "hearing" sounds or "smelling" scents, she also sees sounds as colors and hears scents as music.
- Personal Weaknesses
Tourette Syndrome: Her most obvious weakness is her tics. She can control and supress them to a point, however doing so eventually means that the dam is going to break and come out at once. Her most common tics include a "chirping" noise, snapping her fingers for no reason, repeating the last word either she or someone else says, and yes, she does swear a little, though not like you see on TV. It's usually just the same word. "Cock" or variations thereon. But it's still enough to cause her problems socially.
OCD: Things have to be Just So. She will spend hours sometimes making sure that everything is arranged exactly as it needs to be, be it arranging her clothes in the closet or the food in the pantry
Weak hand: Louise’s right hand doesn’t work very well due to a birth defect.
Music: Because of the unique sensations sound and music give her, she is particularly easily distracted by music. No matter what she’s doing, if she hears music, her ears perk up and she forgets what she was doing for a moment while she listens to it.
- Personal Strengths
Energy: Louise is one of those rare people who can get by on a very minimal amount of sleep, and she is always on the go. If she offers to do something, take her up on it because she will do it fast and well, mainly because she won't let herself do it any other way.
Convictions: She's lasted 25 years without a drop of alcohol, a single instance of drug use, or having sex. It’s a personal choice she made based on her background, and while she doesn’t judge people for doing it themselves, it’s not for her and she will not be shaken from that viewpoint. This willpower carries over to other parts of her life as well.

Elise Wilkes (mother, permanent resident at Bedlam), has made friends with many of the lower class elements of society as well. Works for Dutch at Occam Automotive sweeping up the place.
